Project Manager - Logistics Solutions

• Perform Project Control; develop an effective plan for controlling the project scope, schedule and cost baseline, and monitor the project execution to ensure that the plan is being followed

• Create and effectively coordinate documentation to explain changes

• Responsible for assembling project plans and teamwork assignments, directing and monitoring work efforts of the project team.

• This includes providing feedback on the performance of all internal resources to their respective Mgr. and/or Director; and providing feedback on the performance of all external resources to the appropriate leadership.

• Interact with the business (users) to understand their needs and to anticipate ways in which technological solutions can enhance the business process

• Extract data and generate reports that assist in performance tracking and decision making.

• Analyze logistics operations and build decision support systems.

• Conduct research as needed to respond to customer requests.

• Provide suggestions and implement plans to improve business processes.

• Identify value-creation opportunities for the company

• Develop and implement solutions (both simple solutions using existing technology and infrastructure as well as complex solutions using the latest technologies such as RFID, self-configuring wireless meshes, sophisticated optimization algorithms, etc.

Nature and Scope

• Takes direction from lead.

• Works within well defined instructions.

• The incumbent receives general objectives from the supervisor, consisting of work assignments, goals desired, and recommends sources of information that may assist in task completion.

• The incumbent will work under the general supervision of the supply chain supervisor receiving instructions as to the nature and scope of assignments and objectives to be achieved, and receives advice on unusual or complex problems which deviate from basic policy.

Knowledge and Skills

• Experience or specialization within supply chain / operations research preferred but not necessary.

• Ability to work independently on multiple tasks and projects, with various teams including engineers and supply chain personnel.

• Good judgment & decision making skills.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Demonstrated analytical, quantitative and creative problem solving skills.

• Self-directed.

• Solid collaboration abilities; professional and diplomatic team builder.

• Strong problem solving skills.

• Bachelor's degree
