ABOUT THE JOB
Our Industrial Services Division is looking for a Project Manager to join our mechanical group. Our mechanical self-perform group provides critical infrastructure construction, installation, replacement and repair of:
Hydrant fueling systems, including military aviation
Loading and unloading systems, including fuel trucks and bulk storage facilities
Pipelines
Vessels
Military services stations
Flow and level control systems
As a Project Manager on our Mechanical team, you will be responsible for day-to-day project management including project financials, scheduling, client and subcontractor coordination, quality, and safety.
Job responsibilities include:
Plan, coordinate, integrate, monitor, and appraise to support the preparation of project and contract proposals
Develop project scopes, schedules, and budgets
Ensure compliance with contractual terms
Maintain active communication with clients regarding technical progress and the status of the schedule and budget
Provide timely and accurate invoicing
Coordinate with Program Management to assemble the right project team
Manage scope changes
Identify development opportunities for project technical staff
Comply with purchasing requirements
Perform project closeout activities
Ensure maintenance of technical communications and business files
Report variances from plan, appraising impact of variances; recommending corrective actions
Prepare declarations of revenue
Participate in professional activities for the purpose of career development and corporate image enhancement
In conjunction with the Program Manager, and Service Line Manager as applicable, monitor/evaluate project financial performance
Coordinate with the Division Quality Manager regarding quality, technical and personnel issues
Coordinate with the Division Health and Safety Manager regarding safety and health issues
Responsible for the overall success, quality, and safety of project execution
Develop project proposal costing and pricing
Develop and implement budgets for assigned projects
Responsible for the financial success of assigned projects
Develop new business within program or service line, as applicable
Attend internal contract/specification reviews (kick-off meetings) prior to assembling job packages
Distribute approved contract/specifications to affected personnel within organization
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Bachelor's degree in construction, engineering practice or related field, preferred
5 years of progressive project/program management experience including financial/supervisory accountability and authority; or a High School diploma or GED plus a minimum of 8 years' progressive project/program management experience including financial/supervisory accountability and authority
Experience in DoD fueling systems repair, maintenance, or construction
Experience in petroleum tank and piping construction and repair
Familiar with Unified Facilities Guide Specifications, Unified Facilities Criteria, OSHA and USACE EM-385 requirements
In depth understanding of, and ability to work with various government contract types, including Cost Plus Fixed Fee, Firm Fixed Price, and Time & Materials
Ability to tightly control and manage project schedules, budgets, scopes of work, contract changes, internal staff resources and subcontractors
Ability to read and write technical documents
Ability to read technical drawings
Strong interpersonal, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills
Ability to perform at a high level under stringent project deadlines
Ability to prioritize required tasks to meet multiple schedule deadlines
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Word and Excel
API 570 Piping Inspector, API 653 Aboveground Storage Tank Inspector, Steel Tank Institute Tank Systems Inspector, AMPP Level I Coatings Inspector, and/or Project Management Professional certification(s) (preferred, not required)
