WSP is currently initiating a search for a Project Manager for our New York office.

The Project Manager (PM) is responsible to manage, commission, and provide direction and technical oversight to support the Project Team which includes the: Ownership, Engineer, Construction Managers, Contractors, & their own Commissioning Team Members

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage your team members

  • Understand your team member's strengths & weaknesses

  • Assign them to activities where they can be successful

  • Work with team members, both in the office and in the field, to improve their skills, knowledge and value

  • Provide regular constructive feedback on positive and negative performance

  • Staff mentoring and training

  • Manage your team's overall financial performance and ensure the execution of their projects

  • Ensure that staff is scheduled effectively to ensure maximum utilization

  • Maintain and oversee the development and execution of weekly work plans

  • Ensure projects are adequately staffed

  • Execute projects within budget

  • Time and expense management

  • Projecting Revenue as well as Labor Requirements

  • Oversight and support of existing project workload

  • Client Management

  • Maintain positive relationships with existing clients and consistently promote additional services, future business, and positive references

  • Lead, where possible, design phase projects to allow for an understanding of the project and development of relationships with the key project members

  • Project Management

  • Review project schedules with project team members

  • Review and oversee project design and construction

  • Provide feedback to all team members

  • Commissioning Tasks

  • Conduct site visits and produce reports

  • Utilize test equipment

  • Read and understand project drawings

  • Provide updates to supervisor and project team

  • Checklist completion

  • Submittal & design review

  • Organize & manage schedules

  • Perform energy calculations

  • Design Tasks

  • Assist with site surveys

  • Business Development

  • Support and lead the development of change orders on existing projects for your team members and affiliates

  • Review and support the development of proposals on new clients and / or projects

  • Participate in client and/or educational presentations as required

Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 8+ years engineering experience, including 5 years of management experience

  • Proven track record and excellent customer relation skills

  • Innovative

  • Must have a strong work ethic and ability to learn

  • Strong communication skills

  • Excellent coach and mentor

  • Strong financial and analytical skills

  • Capable presenter

  • Firm, steady and fair leadership

  • Willingness to accept responsibility and solicit involvement from team members

  • Must be physically fit and capable of lifting at least 30 pounds and climbing ladders

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Some traveling is anticipated

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Certifications: P.E., LEED, or CCP a plus

We are always looking for new ways to approach problems, share knowledge, and better serve our customers. You’d be joining a team of nearly 100, based across our New York, London and Manchester offices and working with over 375 arts organizations in North America and the UK.</p><p></p> <p><strong>The Role</strong></p><p>Implementing a new box office, marketing and fundraising solution is a big job. We need a safe pair of hands who our clients can trust to get them live with Spektrix. This person will need to wear many hats – a technical specialist at data mapping and migration, a tutor who is skilled at teaching teams to use software, a Spektrix evangelist who can help clients understand how they can make the most of the system, and of course a multitasker who can manage multiple stakeholders (internal and external) to make sure everyone stays on track and on time.</p><p><br></p> <p>You'll be a change specialist, expert at guiding clients through a period of transition, influencing their decisions when it comes to business processes and system set-up. Your job is to ensure the implementation of Spektrix runs smoothly, from capturing client requirements and assessing data, through to building timelines and running training. It's your job to make sure any client's first experience of working with Spektrix is awesome.</p><p><br></p> <p>You're also a planner – none of our clients are the same, so you'll need to be someone who views every go-live as a unique challenge, building a custom project plan to reflect the needs of the organization. Attention to detail and amazing communication skills are needed to run a project, particularly given the number of internal and external stakeholders involved.</p> <p>You're a technical whiz. You need to understand data mapping and migration, but you also need to understand ticket printers and payment devices. You'll be the go-to person for web agencies and developers who need to integrate Spektrix with the client's website.
