Support administrative and project management tasks for existing business that is currently being worked by the customer facing Federal Core Team (i.e. Hopkins, VA, etc).Federal Acceleration Plan
Support administrative and project management tasks for developing the long term plan for the Federal market.Job RequirementsDevelop and maintain a Federal project plan and all the content associated with the project.Plan, conduct and follow-up key routine meetings for the Federal Core Team.Independently work with internal stakeholders on the Core Team's behalf according to the project plan.Participate in and support the Core Team members as appropriate with external customers.Proactively anticipate needs for the project plan.The Ideal CandidateExperience working in the Federal book of business (VA, DoD, IHS)Experience working in the B to B world and with external customers.Experience navigating across many different functions to be able to work, somewhat independent, to get things accomplished for the core team.Excellent project management and follow-up skills
Works well on a matrixed team of both internal and external stakeholders.Candidate Profile:Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of project management experience
Extensive experience developing project plan including charter, scope, project management approach, management plans, financial forecast and schedule.Extensive experience in working with cross-functional teams and staff of all levels
Experience managing project budgets of at least $500K
Advanced skills in Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint and VisioPMP certification preferred
Experience with multiple project management methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, etc.Ability to understand and translate the client's business requirements
Analytical and creative ability where problems are extremely complex
General Work Description:Manages small to medium projects under limited direction. Project work typically has moderate impact on the corporation / division
May matrix manage a small number of team members (ex. 10 or less) and may also lead sub-teams for larger projects / programs
Applies advanced planning and scheduling techniques (WBS, OBS, CPM)Performs schedule variance analysis
Facilitates plan development. Presents project status to the project team
Able to provide project management training
Develops and documents basic project management processes and procedures
Provides resource (budget) requirement planning
Identifies issues and recommends alternate solutions
Perform small-scale project management needs assessments
Uses client's methodologies to develop project plans
