Project Manager - Engineering Projects
Main Functions
- Project execution : develop and implement project plans, including scope definition with plant staff, R&D, and other business unit personnel, engineering design, procurement activities, construction and commissioning and start-up.
- Cost estimate and scheduling : prepare and manage cost estimates and project schedules to ensure projects are completed within budget and on time.
- Stakeholders management: collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, operations and external vendors to ensure project goals are met.
- Permitting and compliance: manage all required permitting processes and ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
- Risk management: identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring compliances with safety and regulatory standards, with a strong focus on process safety (including HAZOP) and environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) considerations.
- Quality assurance: oversee the quality of project deliverables, ensuring they meet Lallemand's high standard and industry requirements, particularly in the food industry.
- Communication: provide regular project updates to senior management and stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Continuous improvement: implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness, supporting the plants to improve overall performance;
- Contract management and procurement: manage contracts and procurement processes for engineering equipment supply and contractors, including civil, piping, electrical, instrumentation, and automation services
Technical skills
Required
- Experience in project management within an engineering or manufacturing environment
An asset
- Masters degree or PMP certification
- Experience in Food industry
- Process safety experience (HAZOP)
Personal abilities
Required
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Ability to make data-driven decisions
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
