As a Project Manager - Education, you will act as a customer liaison for the Education Value-Added Assessment System (EVAAS) team in supporting the delivery of services. This includes fully managing customer expectations, facilitating the definition of customer requirements for all aspects of delivery, conducting regular meetings with clients, facilitating the interaction among internal teams, and coordinating internal projects.

This role requires the ability to document clearly the scope of project and reporting provided, customer requirements related to these projects and reporting, and any other additional supports and services to be delivered through the team. Additional duties include supporting client contracts, assuming fiscal responsibility for projects, ensuring that the delivered services meet the customer expectations, and maintaining a basic level of knowledge and expertise around all aspects of deliveries. Applicants must demonstrate a true sense of ownership, dedication and responsibility over any project they would oversee.

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • 3+ years of experience in a customer-facing project management role working with external customers on delivery of services.

  • Experience in requirements gathering, development, and documentation.

  • Aptitude to learn and understand all components of a Solution/Program within an offering or domain.

Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered in place of the education requirement stated above.


  • Experience with managing projects in a technical field, such as statistics, analytics, or computer science.

  • Experience with full-cycle project management of software development projects in a hosted environment.

  • Experience working directly with K-12 Educational data or Departments of Education.

  • Experience with EVAAS and/or growth/value-added modeling using student assessment data.

  • Proficiency with JIRA or some other task management system.

  • Microsoft Office proficiency.

  • Travel as business requirements dictate at management discretion (approximately 10%).

Established in 1955 The Cook & Boardman Group, LLC is a privately owned engineering services and specialty distributor-subcontractor. We are the premier provider of architectural hardware, doors, door frames, and related building specialties for non-residential building applications throughout the US. Summary The project manager works closely with assigned salesperson to stay abreast of customer needs on each active project: participates in problem resolution for jobs by skillfully gathering and analyzing information, developing alternate approaches and working well with small groups. Essential Functions * Receive telephone calls, emails and other correspondence from customers and respond within 24 hours. * Correspond and follow up with customers by sending final door, hardware or other schedules for approval. Assure a prompt return and communicate changes and progress of schedule. * Contact customer before each jobsite delivery to assure proper scheduling of delivery and assure all logistics regarding delivery commitments are fulfilled. * Coordinates and attend job site meetings according to the customer's schedule and requirements. * Proactively anticipate customer needs and actively and periodically solicit feedback on Cook and Boardman performance. * Participate in developing solutions for customers with technical issues involving hardware and door products. * Monitor production schedules * Keep project files orderly and current. * Manage any project changes, revisions, revised purchase orders and change order documents and make revisions in Comsense. * Attend sales meetings to provide information or input for any customer service issues. Minimum Qualifications * 2 year degree in Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Technology, or equivalent experience * Proficient in Microsoft Products, including but not limited to Excel, Word, and Outlook * Functional and working knowledge of computers * Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screen Knowledge, Skills & Abilities * Knowledge of Division 8 and/or Division 10 * Ability to read and understand construction contracts * Effective time management skills * Effective communication skills both verbal and in writing, good mathematical skills * Strong organizational skills * Self-motivated and proactive * Winning attitude * Ability to multi-task * Detail oriented * Professional and polished in both appearance and speech Physical Demands This position is primarily sedentary.
