Project Manager – Commercial Construction A premier general contractor in Richmond, Virginia, is seeking experienced Project Managers to join our expanding team. This position is perfect for individuals with a strong background in overseeing large-scale commercial construction projects across diverse market sectors, including commercial, senior living, parking, healthcare, education, and municipal projects.
Our projects range from $1.5 million to over $100 million, providing an excellent opportunity to manage high-impact builds. Position Summary: As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of assigned projects to ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety standards.
Your core duties will include reviewing project proposals, establishing timelines, assessing budgetary constraints, coordinating resource allocation, and managing project phases from initiation through completion. This role requires effective leadership, attention to detail, and an ability to collaborate across various teams. Required Skills:
Project Management Expertise: Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale commercial construction projects, effectively overseeing timelines, budgets, and resources. Leadership and Team Coordination:
Strong leadership skills to direct project teams, subcontractors, and other stakeholders, ensuring seamless project execution. Financial Acumen: Skilled in budgeting, forecasting, and financial management to keep projects within allocated budgets.
Risk Management: Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks within commercial construction settings. Problem-Solving:
Proven skills in resolving project challenges promptly while keeping goals on track. Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with construction management software (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project) for tracking and documentation.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication for effective coordination with clients, subcontractors, and project teams. Compliance and Safety Focus:
Strong knowledge of safety protocols, building codes, and regulatory standards for commercial construction. Contract and Document Management: Proficiency in reviewing and managing project contracts, submittals, change orders, and other essential documentation.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of project management experience with a commercial general contractor, or an equivalent combination of education and industry experience.
