Derive's future products will continue to lead the industry into new technology frontiers. As a Project Manager at Derive, you will be playing a key role in getting these products to the market.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and take responsibility for the successful completion and timeliness of projects.

  • Own the project process from start to finish, striving to provide an amazing experience for each and every team member you work with.

  • Project Kick-Off: Work with internal stakeholders understand the goals, requirements definition, the scope of work, budget, timeline, and prioritize requirements.

  • Proactive Project Planning: Produce a detailed project schedule by facilitating the team to plan out detailed milestones; identify key dates that require stakeholder interactions and meetings.

  • Ensure the team is aligned to operational objectives and drive the team and stakeholders towards milestones.

  • Set Project Cadence: Schedule regular touch points with team and stakeholders.

  • Communication Management: Tailor your communication style or method depending on the situation and recipient. Run effective meetings by stating agenda and goals.

  • Project Administration: Ensure all project documentation is created, reviewed, and maintained to Derive's standards.

  • Task Management: Ensure that the team understands the tasks associated with the project, when they need to be accomplished, and level of effort.

  • Change Management: Manage changes during projects by understanding the ask and goals. Assess the impact of changes and recommend the best course of action.

  • Risk Management: Proactively identify roadblocks and risks and take the initiative to facilitate solutions.

  • Facilitate technical and non-technical project meetings and decisions, record minutes, document decisions, and drive timely closure of actions.

  • Manage stakeholder and project expectations simultaneously for a frictionless project experience.

  • Handle day-to-day team communication throughout each project. You will coordinate and work closely with internal departments.

  • Analyze and solve problems across your business area (people, structures, and processes)

  • Engage with Product/Project Management leadership to understand and refer to the vision, goals, and initiatives for the organization.

  • Execute tasks through a cross functional team in a fast-paced, changing environment.

  • You know how to manage complex cross-functional projects. You strive to meet aggressive goals and know when to reset expectations.

  • You have a system to manage change. You influence decisions and change management through collaboration, leadership, and a customer-focused approach.

Required Skills & Experience

  • You have 3-7 years' experience working in a high-tech company in program/project management.

  • Experience managing and balancing stakeholders' expectations.

  • Understanding of project management methods and processes with the ability to apply them to projects.

  • Sound judgment and the ability to know when to listen vs. ask questions.

  • Strong time management skills

  • The ability to be self-directed and work in an ambiguous and dynamic environment balanced with knowing when to ask for support.

  • Strong business and technical acumen.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication.

  • Experience in Excel and MS Project.

  • Jira experience desirable.

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred

  • Experience in the automotive industry is preferred, but not required.
