Virtusoft is looking for a Project Manager in Washington, DC.
Job description:

Assists with assessing current project management process, quality of work, and standards and provide recommendations and suggestions for process and organizational improvements.
In close coordination with other senior leadership at SoundExchange and within the IT Dept., implement, apply, and oversee new project management recommendations and processes
Structures and manages integrated, multi-track projects.
Can work with stakeholders to establish and maintain a process to manage scope and requirements, and can relate this to other project concepts or strategic company initiatives.
Manages peer-level cross-department relationships (expectations, communications, negotiations, escalation, feedback, etc.).
Manages and coordinates multiple project milestones and dependencies.
Strong communication skills that can effectively establish and maintain expectations and clarity around project timelines and scope.
Organizes and facilitates project planning and presentations.
Orchestrates efforts of cross-functional teams to execute on strategic initiatives to ensure all stakeholders are aligned and updated.
Develops relationships with, and ensures the appropriate participation of, key stakeholders and executives.
Responsible for track planning, risk/issue identification and mitigation, activity tracking, monthly statuses and reporting, and ensuring the quality of deliverable products. The candidate will be expected to provide leadership and direction to the team.
Responsible for project budgeting and forecasting.

Bachelors degree required
MBA/ Masters degree preferred
At least 10 years project management experience
Experience in leading / high level of participation in strategy oriented projects from initiation
Experience in directly supervising the work of BA(s), APMs, or Track Leads & Domain Leads
Mentors and coaches project team members, as appropriate.
Agile experience required preferably with Jira and confluence
5+ years of relationship management experience with primary accountability for stakeholder relationships
Experienced multiple full project lifecycles from business development to final delivery
Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously (preferably in an integrated program)
Demonstrated ability to craft and define a strategic business solution based on broad stakeholder goals
Strong problem identification and analytical skills
Must be detail-oriented and proactive about communicating status and progress
Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to create and deliver clear, powerful and concise presentations/proposals
Consulting and/or development background a plus.

It is possible, depending on the candidate, for this position to be located in Marinette WI, home of the Littoral Combat Ship Freedom class shipbuilder, Fincantieri Marinette Marine. The successful applicant will have P&L responsibility for control accounts assigned reporting to the Program Management On Site Lead. Will be the primary interface with the shipbuilder for schedule and cost management. In addition, responsibilities will include but not be limited to analysis of weekly and monthly cost and schedule performance data to identify variances, perform root cause analysis and develop and track corrective actions. The successful candidate will support problem identification and resolution efforts to achieve program performance objectives such as trial card closure, technical issues resolution and ship delivery efforts. Other duties will include schedule accountability, financial and subcontract management. This role also includes responsibility to develop and maintain Program metrics, coordinate and lead program integration efforts and support the team by maintaining current various internal business management process such as staffing demands. this position will also support development and finalization of delivery documents including the delivery Certificate of Conformance lists. This role will also support business development efforts for the Littoral Combat ship class and hull form derivatives in response to requests for proposals for US Navy or other customers. Basic Qualifications: Must possess excellent communication skills both oral and written. Ability to interface with government and shipyard personnel on complex technical, financial or programmatic issues. Ability to distill items to core facts in order to determine solution paths. Technical background such as Engineering Degree or equivalent experience and demonstrated decision making skills. Fluent with Earned Value Management (EVMS) with complementary experience. Desired Skills: Shipbuilding and/or Ship Design experience highly desired. Experience working on government programs of $50M or greater.
