JOB SUMMARY

The purpose of this position is to lead individual, multi-disciplined facilities project solutions for clients, with direct accountability for project delivery. Projects will include commercial work like building infrastructure, interior remodel, HVAC, and roofing projects inside of commercial, laboratory, and industrial environments. Previous experience in manufacturing and/or industrial projects is preferred.

essential duties and responsibilities

manages all facets of project management (budget, schedule, procurement, quality & risk) for individual projects including planning, design, construction, occupancy and closeout.

demonstrates capability to read, understand and apply standard to moderately complex documents affecting projects, including but not limited to: agreements/contracts, site design and construction standards, and drawings.

interfaces directly with clients to define project requirements. prepares scope of work, project delivery resource requirements, cost estimate & budget, work plan schedule & milestones, quality control, and risk identification.

identifies project delivery resources from pre-qualified lists or through individual project qualification process; conducts standard request for proposals; completes bid analysis; recommends resources to clients.

leads project delivery resources/team providing project guidance and direction to achieve project goals.

ensures a safe work environment, following prescribed client safety protocols. coordinates work permits as required within client facility.

implements communication plan for meetings and written reports/meeting minutes to keep client and project resources informed. facilitates project meetings.

implements project documentation governance aligned with company and client requirements. ensure project data integrity and documentation is accurate, timely and coordinated.

tracks progress of each project against goals, objectives, approved budgets, approved timelines. reports status and variances. creates action plans to meet objectives, budget and schedule.

implements change management routines to assess change requests, make recommendations, secure client approvals, and issue change orders. assesses change requests to determine impacts to scope, budget, schedule, quality and risk.

demonstrates ability to identify project risks, develop risk mitigation and contingency plans, and implement action plans to reduce or eliminate project risks.

Was wir bieten The Project Procurement Manager is responsible for assigned Covestro self-executed projects and those executed by 3rd Parties for Covestro. This includes the planning and the execution of all Capital Procurement and Contracting activities in accordance with Covestro's Capital Investment principles and practices, in order to maximize the Return on Capital Employed (ROCE) and minimize total cost of ownership, while ensuring fulfillment of schedule and quality requirements. Major Responsibilities: * Take a lead role in the selection of the project execution models, compensation strategies, contractual risk mitigation measures, and the contractor selection process. * As a Project Team member, collaborate with and support the Project Management and Engineering (PME) Leads, Discipline Leads, and Business Unit personnel assigned to projects, to ensure successful procurement support for all assigned projects. * Collaborate with and support the Global Procurement personnel to ensure development and implementation of short and long-term procurement strategies with regard to fabricated equipment, machinery, process controls technology (PCT), engineering services, and materials in order to leverage global spend and relationships and to support capital investment projects. * Promote utilization of the Covestro Best Value Country Sourcing (BVCS) process (i.e., global sourcing), utilizing the Approved Manufacturer's List (AML), and the BVCS Team capabilities to ensure the lowest total cost of ownership. * Provide negotiation leadership between contracting firms, suppliers, Covestro Legal and other commercial Departments, and internal stakeholders to execute contracts, resolve contract language issues, performance problems, warranty disputes, and claims. On larger contracts, act as the lead Covestro representative on negotiation teams. * Take an active leadership role in the Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) process for all critical suppliers, especially 3rd party partner performing Engineering, Procurement and Construction services (EPC, EPCm, etc.), to ensure adherence to contractual terms, conditions, schedule, quality, safety, deliverables, etc. * Define, agree, implement, control & monitor important deliverables for the scope of procurement services for projects being executed with third party execution models like Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC), Engineering and Procurement Services (EPs) or Engineering, Procurement Services and Construction Management (EPsCm). * Responsible for the implementation of, and adherence to, all relevant guidelines, procedures, and compliance requirements, by both COV and the EP(s)Cm contractor(s). * Participate as Team Member in the Global CI Procurement Community, to ensure sharing of best practices, lessons learned, and improvement of the COV CI Procurement model. * Ensure successful execution of Procurement and Contract activities for assigned projects.
