Role description:

Arcadis is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join the Arcadis Construction Services Team. In this role you will work with technical experts and CPMS to provide project management support for a large mining reclamation and closure project. This position will be based at the Questa, NM project office.

The Project Manager will be a part of the Global Resilience Business Area. We work to protect our natural environment and water resources, while powering our world for future generations. The rate at which we're seeing large-scale, unforeseen events such as floods and wildfires, is becoming more frequent. Role accountabilities:

The Project Manager requires both office and field work; you should expect to be out in the field up to 10-25% of the time mentoring junior staff. Field work may be performed at project sites with environmental media (e.g., soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, etc.) that has been impacted with hazardous substances and/or hazardous wastes.

Responsibilities will include managing scope, schedule, and budget for mine reclamation and closure-related projects, both large and small scale:

  • Client and regulatory correspondence

  • Leading teams to evaluate data to support conceptual site models for environmental investigations, delineate the nature and extent of contamination, and modify and optimize post-remedy long-term-monitoring and remediation programs.

  • Support portfolio managers with financial management

  • Technical report review and coaching junior staff on technical writing.

  • Preparing cost estimates and proposals

  • Working effectively with project teams, clients, and all other stakeholders

  • Coordinating work schedules with Arcadis staff and subcontractors

  • Health and safety stewardship, including local field visits.

  • May require some regional travel for field visits.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering or closely related field

  • 6 or more years of experience in environmental consulting industry

  • Previous project management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PE (Professional Engineer) or PG (Professional Geologist) preferred.

  • Experience working for clients in the oil and gas, mining and industrial market sector preferred.
