The Project Manager is responsible for the planning and successful completion of client projects. The Project Manager leads the supervision of team members.

Additional responsibilities include assisting with proposal development, estimating change orders, overseeing projects and serving as a liaison between the General Contractor, Engineering, Owner and his Project and Management team. Additional contributions to Business planning, meetings, scheduling, budgeting and goal setting will be part of the responsibilities of this position.

This position requires the Project Manager to work independently, use good judgement, multi-task and respond to changing priorities.


Experience: Minimum of 5-10 years of project management and / or field experience desired. Direct experience with a Wall and Ceiling Subcontractor preferred. Field experience desired!

  • Computer

    Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Basic to Intermediate experience in industry estimating software including Plexxis, QuickBid, Edge WinBid or others desirable.
  • A combination of successful Project Management and /or field Management
  • Education: Associate’s degree in Construction Management, Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience in projects ranging from $500K to $10M preferred, up to $20M plus desired.
  • A combination of experience in Commercial, Hotel, K12, University, Hospital, Airport, Corporate desired.
  • Communication: Ability to read technical manuals and reports, workplace rules and procedures. Speak with poise and confidence, using correct English. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and Clients.

Job Family Group Project Management Group Job Profile Summary The Project Manager/Engineer leads the engineering, procurement, contracting and construction activities for assigned projects at the Cherry Point Refinery. As capability and competency dictates, a Project Manager/Engineer(s) is accountable for managing a portfolio of multiple size projects from low to medium scope and complexity. This role is accountable to deliver assigned projects safely, with quality per the agreed schedule and cost targets. This position works within an integrated team to define and develop project scope, deliver estimate assurance, cost and schedule control, project execution planning, risk management, procurement, field execution, transfer of care custody and control (TCC), commissioning, etc. The successful candidate will join a team that ranks in the 1st Quintile of IPA Benchmarking. The project manager is part of a local projects team as well as a larger global projects community spanning our Downstream businesses. This role has both local and global career progression opportunities. Job advert Key Accountabilities * Delivers safe execution of the "right" projects, with quality, on time per agreed budgets. * Promotes and demonstrates safety leadership. * Leads engineering, procurement and construction activities for projects. * Develops and communicates project execution plans to the key stakeholders. * Executes projects consistent with BP's Capital Value Process (CVP). * Provides Process Safety Management, Health, Safety and Environmental assurance and ensures that all work is in compliance with local, state and federal codes, laws and regulations as well as site and corporate engineering standards. * Accountable for providing oversight and direction to third-party project engineering resources. * Develops, maintains and reviews overall project schedules, milestones, progress reports and cost estimates for all project activities. Forecasts milestone completion, resources and provides cash flow projections. * Ensure completion of quantitative risk analysis and qualitative risk assessments at appropriate project stages using tools such as Monte Carlo, BP Brisk, ALERT and other risk evaluation methods. Ensures that risks and opportunities are identified. * Implements project change management process. Manages contingency progression/allocation through project closeout. * Leads development of project contracting strategy, including contract methodologies, bid analysis and recommendation for selection/award. Works together with PSCM group * Develops specifications, procurement documents and reviews bid tabs for all material, contracts, third party services and purchases. * Responsible for project field construction execution. Works closely with projects construction group to ensure safe and efficient execution of all construction activities. * Actively participates in teams, shares information and offers advice and encouragement to others in support of the best results. * Understands the role of the team and how they contribute to the commercial success of the Business Unit. * Manages multiple projects, uses effective time management techniques.
