Project Manager - Configuration Management

If you are looking to support the Navy's premier shipbuilding program, Serco has a great opportunity for you which focuses on Configuration Management and Change Order Financial Management.

This position will be located at our Bath, Maine site supporting the new construction and design of U.S. Navy ships.

In this role, you will manage a highly skilled and detailed oriented team to:

  • Support The Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Bath Maine (SSBA) in all facets of change processing through both Baseline and Post-Baseline Design processes.

  • Manage linked databases tracking all facets of change and baseline upgrades, including hull applicability and contractual status, contract documentation revisions, compartments impacted, detail design change paper, sources, other related impacts, and associated financial data at every step of the change.

  • Analytically review cost information and provide detailed financial reports and projections on a hull-by-hull basis.

  • Support Class Standard Equipment Change processes.

  • Manage file downloads and keep SSBA file directories up to date.

  • Support data calls from both SSBA and NAVSEA.

  • Work with multiple stakeholders to resolve questions and/or concerns with change issues.

  • Assist with shipbuilding RFP development for future Navy requirements.

  • Participate in weekly and bi-weekly meetings with both Shipbuilders and Design Agents.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A Bachelor's degree.

  • Five plus years' experience.

  • A current or active DoD Secret security clearance, or have the ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance via sponsorship.

  • Proficiency in MS Excel. Data Query experience using MS Access or other SQL query tools, is a plus.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs; Word and PowerPoint.

  • The ability to plan and coordinate individual assignments.

  • The ability to collaborate in a virtual environment with team members in multiple locations.

  • The ability to write clear and concise technical correspondence.

  • The ability to be self-guided and articulate in oral and written presentations, possessing organizational skills to plan team assignments and multi-task to meet deadlines.

Additional desired experience and skills:

  • More than 10 years' experience in performing configuration management, DDG 51 or Navy surface combatant work.

The successful candidate will be proactively engaged on a team providing varied CM support to the AEGIS program as a member of the Bath Aegis Test Team. This position is located at our office in Bath, ME.</p><p>Responsibilities:</p><ul><li><p>Conduct Physical Configuration Audits for the Aegis Weapons and Combat Systems equipment at BIW warehouse and onboard ship in Bath, Maine and at Post-Sailaway Availability/PreOverseas Movement (PSA/POM) sites for DDG-51 class Destroyers</p></li><li><p>Utilize the Advanced Barcode Audit Configuration Accounting System (ABACAS) to download AEGIS Combat Systems (ACS) breakdown data from the Navy's Advanced Configuration Control and Engineering Status System (ACCESS) database</p></li><li><p>Capture Label and Modification Plate Configuration Item data points employing the ABACAS barcode scanning tool</p></li><li><p>Upload audited data to the ACCESS Staging area researching and adding required CAGE and NSN information</p></li><li><p>Assist with resolving data item discrepancies generating CM Issues in coordination with Dahlgren Element Analysts</p></li><li><p>Coordinate with and brief Ship's Systems Test Officer (STO) when conducting audits aboard DDG-51 class destroyers observing all shipboard protocols</p></li><li><p>Review PSA work packages and planning letters coordinating with Ship's Force for timeframe to conduct audit near end of Obligation Work Limiting Date (OWLD) timeframe</p></li><li><p>Provide metrics and QA to supervisor in support of all weeklies and Contract Deliverables (CDRLs) including monthlies and ship audit reports</p></li><li><p>Employ technical expertise to assist in the development and maintenance of CM processes, policies, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) based on program requirements</p></li></ul><p>Required Skills and Experience:</p><ul><li><p>Must be a US Citizen and have an ACTIVE SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE</p></li><li><p>3 - 5 years of related experience in Configuration Management and support</p></li><li><p>Lifting, bending and climbing in support of receipt and audit inspection of equipment in the warehouse and onboard ship</p></li><li><p>Proficient with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and working knowledge of Adobe Pro</p></li><li><p>Ability to support travel for potentially up to 2 weeks at a time for PSA/POM Configuration Audits and occasional meetings</p></li><li><p>Self-starter with strong technical skills and ability to learn new technologies quickly</p></li><li><p>Multi-task in a fast-paced environment</p></li><li><p>Excellent written and oral communication skills</p></li><li><p>Work independently or with a team</p></li><li><p>Interface with customers, management, and employees</p></li><li><p>Attention to detail, care about quality and has a drive for results</p></li></ul><p>Preferred Skills and Experience:</p><ul><li><p>Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in technical field or related discipline</p></li><li><p>Experience related to weapons systems and/or US Navy programs</p></li></ul><p>SCCI is committed to providing a comprehensive and competitive benefits package to meet the needs of Employees and their families.
