Job Description



Responsibilities:

Manages, & coordinates activities of projects to ensure that goals or objectives of projects are accomplished within prescribed time frame and budget parameters.

Provides oversight to lead discipline Drafters, Engineers, project Coordinators and procurement representative assigned to the project.

Provide Project status reports including spreadsheets, memos and scheduling documents to other Customers as required.

Monitors and coordinates the execution of the various Projects and processes relating to client contracted agreements for project management and tenant improvements.

Resolves problems that arise due to inclement weather, emergencies, change orders, or other issues that may cause delays.

Qualifications and

Education Requirements:

Must have extensive knowledge of MS Excel and QuickBooks

Possess strong communication skills, both written and oral

Minimum 1 year of experience supporting multiple PMs and Projects under PMO --- PMP highly preferred. Ability to identify and utilize all available resources to the fullest extend at all times.

Bilingual English / Spanish a major plus (Must have full domain of the English language)

Comfortable working in a multiple disciplinary team environment.

VIEW JOBS 9/15/2018 12:00:00 AM 2018-12-14T00:00 General Summary: Responsible for assisting the Engineering Division Director in accomplishing the goals of the Federal Projects, Maintenance Engineering, and Project Management Departments. Directly manage and supervise the Surveying and Watershed Management Departments and additional support staff. The Engineering Division Manager will also assist the Engineering Division Director to provide technical guidance and sound engineering practice by ensuring that the most economical and feasible method is utilized for each project. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Employee may be requested to perform other duties that may be added or changed as the course and scope of the job directs. The intent of this Job Description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities of this job and include but are not limited to the following: * Assist the Engineering Division Director in the planning, development, evaluation and management of the Engineering Division. * Mentors, monitors and supervises personnel staff on current and future projects. * Supports the Engineering Division Director to review and approve design plans and proposals. * Works with Department Managers to assure that development is progressing according to schedule within budgetary guidelines. * Develops and continually updates/improves progress reporting of on-going work or projects and problems encountered across the Division. * Develops and continually updates/improves on-line resource for Project Managers. * Reviews project management processes, recommend improvements and implements them. * Confers with subordinate supervisory personnel concerning office activities and projects. * Reviews staff reports and records to obtain status of on-going work or projects and/or problems encountered. * Oversees that managerial duties and responsibilities are in accordance with internal policies. * Coordinates and prepares annual budget for approval by Engineering Division Director. * Meets with outside engineering consulting firms and civic groups when necessary. * Reports to the Division Director on a regular basis. * Fills in and speaks for the Engineering Division Director, as needed. * Evaluates job performance and initiates or recommends hiring, disciplinary action and termination of staff. * Evaluate and prioritize multiple tasks. * Establish and meet multiple deadlines. * Attend/conduct division and department staff meetings, meetings with coordinating departments, vendors and agencies. * Attend seminars, conference workshops, re-certification or other training programs. Education & Experience: * Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering. * Experience in management of the design of bridges, drainage systems, including the preparation of alignment drawings, construction drawing and specification and cost estimates. * Professional Engineer Registration (State of Texas). * Requires a minimum of two years' verifiable experience in management of engineers, administrative and technical support staff performing functions relating to public works, drainage systems and urban planning. * Knowledge and understanding of Federal, State and local rules, regulations and standards. * Strong skills using project management tools and systems. * Be successful in a time and deadline driven environment. * Utilize good time management skills and effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks/initiatives. * Solid knowledge/understanding of financial accounting rules, regulations and standards and ability to read, comprehend, interpret and communicate details and changes, as needed.
