These projects consist of the maintenance, upgrade, and growth of the Core Transport, IP & Voice network infrastructures, and as such, close collaboration between numerous functional groups will be required to ensure projects are completed within scope and on time.</p><p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p><ul><li><p>Transforms Internal Project requests into executable project plans with outlined milestones, activities, and tasks</p></li><li><p>Organizes, prepares for, and leads project meetings, documenting and promptly distributing notes and action items</p></li><li><p>Updates and maintains the Project Management and Service Order systems.</p></li><li><p>Ensures appropriate documents are obtained and stored throughout the project lifecycle.</p></li><li><p>Works closely with functional managers and project team members to prioritize activities and shared resource allocations across multiple projects.</p></li><li><p>Reports project outcomes and/or risks to proper management and stakeholders, escalating as needed based on project plans</p></li><li><p>Identifies process and system efficiencies, making recommendations and implementing quality control procedures</p></li><li><p>Completes special projects and other duties as assigned to support company goals and initiatives</p></li></ul><p>Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills:</p><ul><li><p>Be able to manage multiple projects of varying complexities simultaneously</p></li><li><p>Experienced with Project Management methodologies, specifically, but not limited to, Waterfall/Predictive, Agile and hybrid approaches</p></li><li><p>Demonstrated ability to design project network diagrams, work schedules</p></li><li><p>Strong PC skills with Microsoft tools such as: SharePoint, Outlook, OneNote, Visio, Excel and Project</p></li><li><p>Must be self-directed, obtain and understand project requirements, and take the initiative to complete tasks or assignments with little or no direction</p></li><li><p>Be able to build and foster collaborative relationships</p></li><li><p>Must have excellent communication skills, both written and oral</p></li><li><p>Working knowledge of projects that include Metro Ethernet/DWDM, fiber construction, Inside Plant, POP construction preferred</p></li></ul><p>Education and/or Experience:</p><ul><li>Project Management certification or successful completion of a recognized project management curriculum; Certified PMP or CAPM preferred</li><li>5+ Years of telecommunications project management</li><li>BA/BS Degree or equivalent in telecom or related field preferred but not required</li></ul><p>About FirstLight:</p><p>FirstLight, headquartered in Albany, New York, provides fiber-optic data, Internet, data center, cloud and voice services to enterprise and carrier customers throughout the Northeast connecting more than 13,000 locations in service with more than 125,000 locations serviceable by our more than 25,000-route mile network.
