CliniComp, Intl. seeks an experienced Project Manager who will apply technical project management expertise to oversee key internal and external projects from concept through implementation including initiation, requirements, design, build, & test and support. The Project Manager is responsible for leading the overall definition, planning and delivery of technical projects on time, within budget and within scope. The PM plays an important role in our service delivery to customers by driving accountability of project teams, facilitating design decisions and successfully delivering product releases on time.

The Project Manager (PM) oversees the planning, documentation, implementation, and tracking of all aspects of each project while working closely with management to make sure the scope and direction of the project stay on target. The PM will also prepare and present progress reports for management; collect, document and archive all required development artifacts; and ensure that technologies are integrated properly.

Strong candidates will have demonstrated project management expertise in the software development space (preferably in healthcare) and experience with clinical workflow. Role Responsibilities:

  • Oversee project and product implementations, testing and documentation
  • Manage projects through the entire Software Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC) using established project processes and tools
  • Facilitate customer meetings and project milestones to support contract management
  • Coordinate cross-departments to provide direction on developing project plans to support software and hardware upgrades and new implementations
  • Partner with Product Development to roll new releases and/or upgrades out to sites according to the master plan
  • Provide technical support for customers and partners by resolving technical customer application questions or problems in the areas of system configuration/setup, product functionality and bugs/enhancements
  • Facilitate requirement gathering sessions with internal architects, creative teams and business stakeholders
  • Understand product features and implement enhancements to the existing product
  • In collaboration with senior management, define project scope and schedule, as well as project objectives and measures for evaluating success
  • Create a detailed project plan which identifies and sequences the activities and resources needed to successfully complete the project
  • Determine the resources (time, staff, training, support, equipment, etc.) required to complete the project
  • Facilitate resolution of customers issues by coordinating efforts between Product Development and Support teams and assisting in testing problem resolution fixes. Report problems and escalate to appropriate department or management as needed
  • Develop documents and submit as contract deliverables to customers as required
  • Ensure that the project deliverables are on time and meet the required level of quality
  • Monitor the progress of the project and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project
  • Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders including appropriate staff in the organization on the progress of the project
  • Schedule regular project meetings internal and/or external to optimize project information and knowledge exchange
  • Develop project documentation and instructions that standardize the implementation approach for all phases of the project that other departments can utilize to successfully execute the project
  • Maintain issues log and/or risk register for regular review with project team and stakeholders
  • Lead team efforts to improve inter-departmental processes and initiatives
  • Share knowledge with the Client Services team through communication, evaluation, documentation and execution



  • Bachelors degree in related field and 3 years experience as a PM including some experience leading cross-functional teams and driving process improvement initiatives. Masters degree in related field preferred.
  • In lieu of degree an additional 4 years directly related experience for a total of 7 years experience.
  • PMP certification is required.
  • Prefer experience with clinical workflow, healthcare information technology market, support of a comprehensive software product, UNIX, Linux, HP operating system software and knowledge of DOD healthcare operations.
  • U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain DoD ADP and VA High Risk Background clearance.

Competencies: Knowledge of PM principles and practices. Knowledge of healthcare industry and software development life cycle. Ability to analyze complex contracts and to create implementation plans. Strong project management skills with the ability to clearly communicate technical concepts.

Work Environment: Exposure to various business environments with moderate noise levels created by computers and/or printers and light traffic; use of standard office equipment. This position is located in our headquarters in San Diego, CA.

Physical Demands: Ability to sit for long period of time; manual dexterity to operate equipment and tools; vision requirements include ability to adjust focus, depth perception, peripheral vision, distance vision and close vision; stand, walk, stoop, squat, reach to or below shoulder level, lift, carry, push, pull, and use hands to handle and feel; climb and reach above shoulder level; lift/carry up to 20 pounds. Ability to work long, early morning, late night and weekend hours.

Travel: Travel at least 25% of the time. Must be able operate a motor vehicle and have a valid drivers license. Must have a valid drivers license and ability to obtain a US Passport.

Security Clearance: The start of the security clearance process is up to the discretion of the company and may begin no later than the successful completion of the first 90 days of employment, and commensurate with job requirements and the needs of the business. Successful completion of the security clearance process may not be required for every position but all candidates must be willing to submit to the process if requested by their manager according to the requirements of the position and business needs.
