As a Project Manager in ITWorks, you will provide day-to-day management of projects including risk assessment, issue and task management, and stakeholder communications. Your role leads discussions to overcome project barriers, obtain requirements, achieve stakeholder alignment, and evaluate and determine objectives, goals, and scope. Utilizing your networking and collaboration skills, you will manage interdependencies, engage stakeholders and builders to work through difficult decisions, and escalate high priority risks and issues to leadership. Strong communication skills with all audience types (analyst to executive), organization, and a keen attention to detail and interconnectedness will be critical to your success.

Additional Information

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field; or equivalent relevant work experience

  • At least 2 years of project management work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

  • At least 2 years healthcare IT experience


  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations

  • Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position

  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned

VIEW JOBS 12/19/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-03-19T00:00 The Project Manager represents Sutter Health and its affiliates in capital improvement projects, including new development, facility expansion, renovation and retrofitting. This position coordinates, monitors and reports on design and construction activities and may assume a leadership role on smaller, less-complex projects. The Project Manager assists in administering consultant and construction agreements. The incumbent facilitates quality control, maintenance of design and construction schedules, construction management, and owner representative responsibilities. Additionally, this role acts as a liaison between the affiliate and corporate, as well as between the Sutter entities and external vendors. The Project Manager may manage small project delivery team staffs to provide coordinated expertise, standardized tools and project management advice to the affiliate.Education: Bachelor of Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management or equivalent professional experience in the design and construction of hospitals and medical clinics. Experience: A minimum of 2-5 years project management experience in the delivery of health care facilities and related construction projects. Experience on projects including medical office buildings, acute care general hospitals, out patient surgery centers and psychiatric hospitals from programming through facility activation desired. Must have been in responsible charge of the delivery of projects exceeding $5 million construction cost. Knowledge: Must be familiar with health care construction building codes and regulations, space programming and allocation cost analysis, discretionary approval processes, construction means and methods, construction processes and procedures, and contract implementation. Must be familiar with the State of California building approval processes including OSHPD, the State Fire Marshall and municipal discretionary approvals, as well as JCAHO regulation. Must have expertise in project management techniques and software. Must be proficient with Microsoft Project. Special Skills/Equipment: Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as team skills to ensure appropriate communications and coordination across project delivery team, affiliate and vendors. Strong client relationship management skills to maintain positive relations between FPD and affiliate leadership. Able to manage and delegate tasks to technical and non-technical support staff. Experience in project management from design through final completion and licensing on hospital projects is required.
