About the Department

The Business Innovation Garage (BIG) is a high-growth unit in Novo Nordisk (NN), exploring four primary areas:

Establishing a network of Digital Innovation Hubs US (DIH US) situated in the most advanced and dynamic Healthtech ecosystems across the world with the objective to accelerate NN's digital partnering & investment efforts, as well as create an environment where corporate and startups come together to experiment, build, and co-create in support of initiatives that challenge the status quo and leverage innovative technologies.

Support the organization in the execution of the digital strategy and its implementation across the organization. Explore the limits of technology and its impact in cardiometabolic patients to untap the next big digital disruptor in healthcare. Accelerate the digital transformation of NN by supporting the organization in boosting partnerships with start-ups in digital healthcare.

The Position

Want to play a key role in driving adoption of emerging digital technologies and open innovation in Novo Nordisk (NN)? Does working with startups and other unconventional partnerships in digital healthcare excite you?

The Digital Innovation Project Manager will lead cross functional initiatives that leverage emerging technology, facilitates specific ideation processes both internally and externally, convincingly, and clearly communicates to stakeholders across the business, and acts as a trusted advisor with a strong understanding of business challenges and constraints. We are looking for flexibility and creativity to connect strategic priorities with external opportunities and drive maturation from idea to pilot, and from pilot to scale/investment.

Essential Functions

As a Digital Innovation Hub Project Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• Collaborate with the business units to identify their business priorities and needs

• Manage the innovation programs following the Novo Nordisk Fast Track Innovation framework: Create and launch call for applications, scout and evaluate relevant startups and partners, organize the selection of solutions, and manage program logistics, i.e., pilot scoping, milestones and contracting

• Coordinate with internal business units and startups to define business opportunities

• Follow-up and monitor the pilot between internal business units and startup to ensure successful collaboration

• Build and participate in DIH US ecosystem engagement and network of the Digital Innovation Hubs (accelerators, incubators, academia, VCs, communities)

• Attend and represent the DIH US in tech and Healthtech events and conferences

• Organize meetups and events to attract startups and ecosystem players

Physical Requirements

Up to 30% overnight travel, including limited international travel.

Qualifications

Education Level:

• Bachelor's degree required; Masters Preferred

Experience Level:

• 5+ years of experience in a broad digital product development track/business model transformation, being specification, design, development, management, and implementation of digital solutions; four (+4) years of relevant experience with a Masters may also be considered; relevant experience in Business Development, Investment, Venture Capital, and/or consulting desired

• Experience and passion for startup investments from a digital perspective and with the capacity to engage stakeholders in complex environments.

• Able to tailor messages to relevant stakeholders from various levels of authority and experience internally selling concepts and initiatives that challenge the status quo.

• Experience in developing relationships and working with multiple stakeholders on high-profile, cross-functional, and multinational initiatives.

• Strong analytical, technical, and business acumen is needed to navigate the landscape of startups and translate uncertainties into tangible opportunities for Novo Nordisk.

• An innovation record of accomplishment working on, or driving, disruptive projects from idea to launch.

• Knowledge and passion for digital (health) trends; Experience working with digital healthcare topics will be a plus.

• Should be a vivid and curious learner with a customer-centric and innovative mindset, as well as an eagerness to be a part of building something new and challenging traditional methodologies
