Job Description:

The purpose of this position is to coordinate, manage and support research conducted within the soon to be established Pandemics Center. Initially, the position will manage a project to identify countries' exemplar practices in maintaining essential health services while also responding to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Job-related activities include: coordinating and tracking the work of local research teams in four different countries in Latin America and Asia. Duties involve corresponding with research teams, scheduling and creating agenda for biweekly meetings to discuss research findings, drafting and disseminating meeting notes, and participating in the analysis, write-up and publication of project research findings. This person is also responsible for recruiting, training, supervising, and evaluating project staff, as needed.

The project manager will also be involved with engagement of key stakeholders, developing new collaborations, and dissemination of research findings. The Project Manager may also assist with other aspects of the project including data analysis, scientific writing, manuscript preparation, and grant writing. The Project Manager may also supervise student employees and volunteers. The initial project work described here will end on September 30, 2022, but the Project Manager may be asked to support additional projects beyond that date.

Section 3: Major Responsibilities

Oversee the execution of each local research team and other institutional partners 50 %

Supporting Actions:

Schedule check-in meetings with each of the research teams (note these meetings will be held outside of conventional working hours to accommodate international schedules)

Develop and disseminate agendas for each check-in meetings

Plan cross-collaborative meetings of multiple research teams and develop agenda and presentations for those meetings

Plan and develop agendas for meetings with institutional collaborators, funders and project's technical advisory group

Track correspondence and tasks/requests from funders and institutional collaborators

Track project deliverables and correspondence and tasks that arise from 1) Work with staff, faculty and consultants to design research components in accordance with grant specifications (i.e., educational content, survey instruments, training activities).

Take and disseminate notes and due-out reminders from meetings with research partners, institutional collaborators, funders and project's technical advisory group

Track and manage schedule of project deliverables to project funders

Assist with draft final report, manuscripts, and research dissemination materials.

Assist with review, editing and revision of reports, manuscripts, presentations, and other materials produced by research teams; Assist with drafting, editing, and revision of reports, manuscripts, presentations and other materials from core project team and institutional collaborators. Coordinate with institutional collaborators to develop website and other materials to disseminate research findings. 30%

Supporting Actions:

Perform relevant review of literature to facilitate development of final report, manuscripts, and research dissemination materials.

Contribute to analysis of research data for publication in various formats.

Correspond and track research teams' and institutional collaborators' contribution to research findings and associated publications/materials

Assist with overall manuscript tracking among students, staff, and Investigators.

Create PowerPoint presentations and posters for dissemination of research findings.

Assist in writing papers (re: research findings) for submission to professional journals.

Assist PI with to track grant budget as well as write and submit progress reports to funder. Organize, track and coordinate research partner and institutional collaborators travel to international meetings to disseminate research findings. 10%

Track requirements for participation in international meetings/panel presentations

Correspond with research partners and institutional collaborators regarding travel to and presentation at international meetings

Manage and track correspondence and relevant tasks regarding the receipt of funding for dissemination activities

Assist with dissemination of published research findings. 10%

Supporting Actions:

Draft blog posts, social media posts and other products to share published research findings.

Identify stakeholders to receive research findings and draft correspondence.

Disseminate findings on social media outlets

Job Qualifications

Education and Experience

Master's Degree required in related field with evidence of academic achievement. Management experience preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
