Job Description:

This is professional services work of a managerial nature performing project management for transportation engineering within the Department of Transportation's Bridge Program.

The Project Manager will be responsible for the management, development, and delivery of capital bridge improvement projects by:

  • Assisting in the leadership of a multidisciplinary team of professional engineers, specialists, and technicians within the Bridge Program,
  • Managing project budgets by developing estimates, monitoring expenditures, and making appropriate budgetary adjustments,
  • Project scheduling and the coordination of a large number of complex activities necessary for the delivery of projects,
  • Ensuring projects are developed in compliance with all applicable standards, policies and procedures,
  • Organizing for and presenting projects at public meetings and responding to public inquiries,
  • Fostering and maintaining open communications among team members, with other units within the Department and with other state and federal agencies,
  • Managing work assignments and resource levels within the team, and,
  • Mentoring and supervising members of the team.

To be minimally qualified for this position candidates must provide evidence of the following experience:

Licensure as a Professional Engineer or twelve (12) years experience in technical engineering.
