Our client, located in Janesville, WI area, is a leader in materials distribution. They are a billion-dollar company offering a very competitive compensation package.

The IT Project Manager will coordinate the management of multiple IT projects running concurrently, plus personally manage projects of critical importance to the company.

Responsibilities

The IT Project Manager will determine when projects should be phased, and formulate recommendations for management on priorities when phasing large projects.
The IT Project Manager will lead the planning and implementation of IT projects using established IT PMO processes, tools, and techniques in all aspects of SDLC (based on standard PMBOK processes).
Bachelor degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or equivalent non-U.S. degree.
Master s degree in Business or Information Technology is desirable, but not required.
Project Management Institute (PMI) Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) is preferred.
Minimum of 5-7 years of direct work experience in a project management capacity including all aspects of system development life cycle.
Excellent written/verbal communication and facilitation skills for communicating at all levels including strong presentation skills.

The Project Manager is expected to plan, manage and execute large power systems or service projects that may include standard power systems, modifications to existing power systems, customized power systems, and/or major service projects to our oil and gas, marine and/or power generation customer base. The position requires technical and administrative control of the project in accordance with the agreed/authorized project objectives, schedule, commercial target, internal/external client requirements as well as regulatory body and class society requirements. This may be a field-based position. The project manager is an "entrepreneur" and project owner for the duration of the project and is responsible for ensuring achievement of all project objectives agreed upon in writing in the project's contract. The project manager is expected to lead the project with all required approvals to ensure a successful project. The project manager focuses on technical and administrative control of the project and acts as the point of contact from contract kickoff through the warranty period for the customer, internal business or segment leadership and, if applicable, any consortium or channel partners. The project manager is responsible for leading a core execution team to ensure that the project technical and business objectives are achieved. When tasks are delegated either internally or externally, responsibility remains with the project manager. The project manager is responsible for defining requirements regarding content, quality, deadlines, and costs and holds core execution team members accountable for performance. Success is measured in terms of meeting or exceeding project financial performance (revenue, cost, and profit margin), customer satisfaction metrics, and contract deliverables. Duties and Responsibilities * Manage assigned projects with respect to engineering, manufacturing, scope of work, risk, budget, schedule, quality, safety, and contract administration through all the project phases and in accordance with company policies, standards, and project objectives * Coordinate with customer to meet requirements for project reporting, witness points and site inspections, change order management, claims management, and final configuration * Establish project financial targets in collaboration with the commercial manager based on cost and margin approvals for the negotiated contract * Conduct project planning activities for both the whole project and individual sub-projects and work packages, including structuring core process and cross-process tasks * Assume responsibility for all commercial and legal aspects of contract execution through the warranty period, including processing and attaining payment, tracking costs, and maintaining required insurance or financing safeguards * Appoint core execution team members in collaboration with the appropriate business leaders * Coordinate core execution team activities and demonstrate the contribution to project success * Conduct project reporting and internal controlling (financial status, project plans, performance progress, quality, risk, and non-conformance cost reports) as required * Lead in a manner that supports the EnPro transformation and Fairbanks Morse's values of Safety, Excellence, Respect and works with integrity, responsibility, and accountability * Collaborate with peers and others within Fairbanks Morse and across EnPro to exchange experiences and information to improve on execution and to develop segment-specific tools and procedures, as necessary * BS degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, Project Management is required * MBA with a concentration in Operations Management or Project Management is preferred * At least 5 years of demonstrated, successful project execution experience in the power generation, oil and gas, and marine industries is required * Experience with project engineering of power systems in power generation or oil and gas applications is preferred * Industry accepted project management certification is required * Demonstrated ability to lead an indirect team of 5-10 individuals, including the ability to appropriately balance team and individual workloads and provide feedback to direct managers for performance coaching * Strong English language communications skills (verbal, written and presentation); ability to clearly and concisely express information (or data) to non-technical associates, peers, and management * Aptitude for working with and negotiating commercial terms and conditions * Strong financial acumen related to reporting and decision making * Highly motivated, self-determined spirit * Ability to develop creative, sound solutions to commercial problems that balance customer expectations and business objectives * Flexibility to adjust and thrive in an environment with changing requirements, schedules and priorities for multiple projects or assignments * Willingness and flexibility to travel up to 50% to interact with customers Knowledge, Skills, Education, and Experience * BS degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, Project Management is required * MBA with a concentration in Operations Management or Project Management is preferred * At least 5 years of demonstrated, successful project execution experience in the power generation, oil and gas, and marine industries is required * Experience with project engineering of power systems in power generation or oil and gas applications is preferred * Industry accepted project management certification is required * Demonstrated ability to lead an indirect team of 5-10 individuals, including the ability to appropriately balance team and individual workloads and provide feedback to direct managers for performance coaching * Strong English language communications skills (verbal, written and presentation); ability to clearly and concisely express information (or data) to non-technical associates, peers, and management * Aptitude for working with and negotiating commercial terms and conditions * Strong financial acumen related to reporting and decision making * Highly motivated, self-determined spirit * Ability to develop creative, sound solutions to commercial problems that balance customer expectations and business objectives * Flexibility to adjust and thrive in an environment with changing requirements, schedules and priorities for multiple projects or assignments * Willingness and flexibility to travel up to 50% to interact with customers * Excellent business power user IT skills (MS Office, MS Project, Google Apps) * This position includes access or potential access to export controlled data.
