The Project Manager Biomed will provide overall leadership to a highly visible, strategic corporate initiative responsible for upgrading and remediating biomed systems in facilities across the HCA Healthcare enterprise, ultimately being accountable for the tactical plan and quality of the project. Must be able to bridge the architectural standards and user requirements ensuring implementation and remediation teams have the tools necessary to implement a quality solution. Position will serve as the primary contact for division Biomed implementation and will ensure vendor accountability on multi-million dollar engagements. Must be able to manage several large security and biomed related deployments and remediation efforts in parallel while maintaining high customer satisfaction and achieving project timelines and milestones and budget targets. Extraordinary analytical and project experience, high degree of creativity; in depth knowledge of the business implications of technical approaches, advanced project planning and coordination skills, superior communication skills, success in subordinate positions.

Specific responsibilities include vendor management, leading project meetings; provide infrastructure and client expertise to the project.

General Responsibilities

  • Overall Leadership and support of division Biomed Device Program

  • Serve as single point of contact for all Division Biomed remediation and refresh needs; meeting regularly (in person and remotely) with Division leadership to ensure program success

  • Works with the department and project team in controlling cost and working within the assigned budget

  • Maintain relationships with significant HCA Vendors along with several secondary vendors as key delivery mechanisms in the overall deployment strategy of the project

  • Understand User Requirements and find appropriate solutions within the standard design

  • Document gaps between user requirements and biomed standards and facilitate the resolution of the design gaps

  • Provide subject matter expertise to field and corporate resources

  • Interface and communicate with all areas affected by the project

  • Identify and resolve issues of security importance

  • Respond to leadership issues and information requests within defined areas of responsibility as required

  • Create, develop and maintain a customer focus that includes effective working relationships with key corporate and field teams to ensure through and ongoing understanding of project scope

  • Perform duties with little or no supervision in an independent manner.


% of Time and Description
25% - Responsible for supporting assigned Division, ensuring all respective Biomed security and FTR activities are completed on-time, within budget, and as designed/specified

15% - Vendor Management and oversight
10% - Responsible for budget planning and compliance while working in conjunction with FTR Leadership, PMC, and F&A resources
10% - Provide FTR, F&A, PMC, and Security Leadership with requested updates on a regular basis
10% - Ensure timely, accurate, and complete procurement and receiving activities for assigned Division
5% - 5% - Report to the FTR functional director

  • General understanding of hardware, networks, operating systems applications and biomed devices

  • Proficient in MS Excel and Access including the ability to create trend analysis reports, budget projections, and other necessary reports and analyses

  • Understanding of basic accounting principles

  • Healthcare experience providing a well-rounded understanding of healthcare operations

Office environment but at times will include patient care settings.
