Berlitz - Project Manager

Princeton Headquarters / Remote within the US

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • developing and maintaining project work plans and schedules using project management software
  • creating and tracking budgets; tracking and processing invoices from various contractors
  • setting up and maintaining file sharing and saving procedures
  • managing the contract creation and signing process
  • regularly communicating project status and key risks to project sponsors and stakeholders
  • mitigating and finding solutions for active risks
  • maintaining and updating all online forms and templates, creating new forms as needed
  • managing and responding to requests for customized materials, managing the creation process for these materials
  • developing and maintaining estimates
  • writing program overviews for the catalog and sending individually by request to the field
  • finding, hiring, testing, managing, and training freelance staff for immediate employment, including course writers, editors, copyeditors, designers, translators, subject matter experts, etc.
  • creating presentations from scratch as well as keeping up to date and presenting them


  • Report to Sr Project Manager, Global Learning Products

  • Manage Project Coordinator; internal contributors and various freelancers

  • Direct interaction with all members of GLP team, stakeholders from various Berlitz departments

  • Interaction with partners and vendors

Job Qualifications

Qualifications, Education and/or Experience

  • B.A. or B.Sc. required

  • Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills

  • Native (or near-native) proficiency in English and a second language preferred

  • 1-3 years of project management experience

  • 1-3 years of publishing experience required, preferably in educational and/or language publishing

  • Ability to be pro-active with a sense of urgency

  • Be a self-starter, a self-learner, a highly motivated person able to work in a fast paced environment that is continually changing

  • High level of organizational and time-management skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Ability to participate actively with others on cross-functional teams and across different geographies

  • Global cultural orientation

  • Proficiency using standard software such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Acrobat DC, Google Drive

  • Proficiency using Project management software

  • Proficiency using WebConferencing platforms required

  • Familiarity with Content Management Systems

  • This can be a remote position for the right candidate, only within the US

VIEW JOBS 2/12/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-05-12T00:00 Job Description 30484-1 Project Manager Summary: The purpose of this role is to ensure compliance to Global Procurement processes through monitoring activity. Define and document monitoring process including defining roles and responsibilities working with the Global Process Owner. Compliance monitoring could include screening suppliers for sanctioned countries and other blacklists, as also monitoring for self-approved Purchase Orders among other checks. This role will require coordinating with each of the Process Managers as also working closely with the Service Delivery team that oversees Operations. Responsibilities: * Develop and document the monitoring process and create training * Monitor Global Procurement processes in our existing tools and review exceptions * Perform research in related systems outside of monitoring tool (if necessary) * If issue identified, escalate per process * If no issue identified, close the item with appropriate reason code * Co-ordinate with various teams (as necessary) to close issues identified * Generate summary/ results and share with Manager on a bi-weekly basis * Escalate any major risks/ issues immediately through the appropriate channels Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree (preferably in business-related area) * 2-3 years' work experience preferably in Global Procurement or Finance * Manager experience * Experience in Procurement, Audit, Finance or relevant experience * Experience in reporting basic metrics and data summary * Experience working in an agile environment and open to constant change * Experience in Procurement technologies (e.g. SAP, Ariba) * Experience working in an agile environment and open to constant change * Understanding of finance and integration points with Strategy to Pay processes * Manager experience * Ability to direct interns and deliver results * Proven track record of being organized and tracking actions to completion * Strong oral and written communication skills * Strong familiarity with navigating analytics tools and understanding data.
