Our client is seeking a Project Manager for a 6+ month contract located in the Brea, CA area. At this time local candidates are preferred.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Looking for a PM that can bring a structured approach to project management, PMP or CSM is preferable. Candidate will be managing software maintenance related projects on a number of applications (some 3rd party, some highly customized and or written in house) that are integrated with their main business platform. Looking for 5 years of Project Management experience with demonstrated experience in managing to a schedule and budget and communicating on the status or pain points of said schedule. Client is very focused on communication skills, someone who can work with a team of up to 10 and help motivate and mentor communication between the team.
The successful candidate will exhibit the following characteristics:
  • Thorough working knowledge of waterfall, iterative and agile project management methodologies
  • Strong knowledge and skills in project planning, scheduling, tracking and reporting
  • Knowledge of Critical Path Method and project network logic diagrams
  • Strong knowledge and skills in scope, risk, issue and change management
  • Proven ability to manage project budgets
  • Deep enough technical knowledge to validate estimates and organize technical activities to appropriate roles
  • Experience in managing maintenance workflow
  • Able to manage and set expectations through constructive negotiations with business sponsors
  • Able to build and motivate teams through influencing and empowering others
  • Capable of coaching and conflict management
  • Able to manage multiple environments and projects simultaneously with a combined annual budget over $2M
  • Independently motivated and able to work through periods of ambiguity and change with a solid sense of perspective
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced meeting management skills
  • Able to communicate professionally at all levels within and outside of the organization
  • Able to adhere to a regular work schedule
  • Highly developed skills for managing work and meeting all deadlines
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

This individual must be computer savvy, experienced in the field, and be able to communicate clearly, efficiently and effectively. We are only looking for "local" residents to Southern California. SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES: * Communicate effectively, efficiently and professionally with Clients, Executive leaders and vendors. * Successfully manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders. * Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress, paying attention to critical path & milestones. * Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of said project(s). * Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget * Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders ensuring technical feasibility * Ensure resource availability and allocation * Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques * Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques * Perform risk management to minimize project risks * Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation requirements * Communicate ideas for improving company processes with a positive and construction attitude, and for developing this attitude in others QUALIFICATIONS * Must be Southern California Resident. * Must have strong constructability knowledge from a "builders" standpoint rather than that of a Owner's Rep which means actual building applied knowledge is necessary. * Must have minimum 5 years experience managing commercial, retail and mixed-use projects plus on-site management of at least 3 years. * Candidate must have experience in both ground-up and tenant improvement build-outs. * Complete construction projects by directing construction requirements; comparing construction results to plans; resolving problems. * Strong presentation with excellent client-facing and internal communication skills * Maintain effective/positive relationships with Owners, Architects, Engineers, Inspectors, Testing Agencies, subcontractors and suppliers. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills * Highly motivated and ability to be flexible in a team environment * Must be able to manage multiple workflows including performing take-off, qualifying bids, let out contracts, create schedules and facilitate timely change order processing ensuring sign off on Client approved changes. * Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Project/Excel), Outlook, and ProCore.
