Position Profile:

Through direct supervision and by exercising independent judgment effectively and efficiently manage the on-site construction process in assigned communities, resulting in a quality home that is delivered on time and within budget. Establish and maintain effective subcontractor relations. Provide customer care to homebuyer, which results in a high level of customer satisfaction. Safely manage the work site and ensure compliance with all safety and environmental Federal State and Local laws and regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
(Included but not limited to)

  • Function as AWH primary management representative at assigned construction sites. Including management of the construction process and all subcontractors.

  • Responsible for cost control at assigned sites, regulatory agency on-site compliance and ensure that assigned work site complies with all Federal and State safety and environmental laws and AWH Job Site Safety Manual.

  • Communication with homebuyers, on-site Sales Counselor/Associate and construction organization as required.

  • Manage assigned construction to result in a quality home, which is delivered on time and within budget.

  • Ensure that the construction function is well staffed and competent in technical, administrative and customer satisfaction skills.

  • Team with Sales/Marketing/Design Center to ensure coordination and problem solving between the respective organizations.

  • Support Land Development & Acquisition Development functions as needed.

  • Work collaboratively with members of Divisional and Corporate Leadership Teams as requested.

  • Identify, maintain and effectively manage subcontractors.

  • Team with assigned Sales Counselor/Associate to insure high satisfaction level in Customer Service.

  • Proactively communicate any construction, customer service or safety issues to the Area Construction Manager with suggestions for resolution.

  • Ensure assigned community is in proper order and appealing to the homebuyer.

  • Proactively manage production levels and adequate staffing to delivery and division closing budget.

  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelors Degree preferably in Construction Management or Business or equivalent years of experience in Construction Management with production builder required.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Knowledgeable about the construction industry including construction cost, materials, products, methods and procedures.

  • Must have thorough knowledge of the trades, crafts and equipment needed to complete the job, plus the ability to identify potential problems.

  • Knowledge and familiarity with blueprints, construction drawings and addendum and reading same required.

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize several tasks without compromising quality of work or mission deadlines.

  • Proven organization skills in a high paced work environment.

  • Must be able to use word processing, e-mail, spreadsheets, presentation (PowerPoint), database and newsletter (Adobe) software for advanced internal and external communications, creation of reports and presentations and database maintenance.

  • Ability to review, analyze and interpret information as well as trouble-shoot to solve problems.

  • Knowledge of Business English and ability to communicate patiently and professionally with both internal and external customers both orally and in writing.

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize several tasks without compromising quality of work or mission deadlines.

  • Ability to adapt in a changing workplace.

  • Computer literacy, proficiency with Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point and ability to learn new programs as needed.


  • Four years of progressively responsible positions in construction function of production builder preferred.
  • 3-5 years home building experience required.

Typical Physical and Mental Demands:

Must be able to read, write, and speak fluently in English. Spanish language skills are helpful.

Employees in the position are required to be able to hear and have vision sufficient to utilize all office equipment.

Use of hands and fingers is required to utilize standard office equipment.

Use of feet and legs required to walk, climb and maneuver within construction sites

Requires occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.

Working Conditions:

Work is generally performed in the field, ie home building construction sites. Occasional work will be performed in a typical office environment and may involve the use of a typical office environment using standard office equipment. Work is typically active in nature, but some sitting maybe required.

Job Summary: The Project Manager (PM) is expected to drive the execution of projects and programs by leading the planning, coordination, and execution with all internal and external stakeholders, from opportunity development to commercial operation and turnover. Projects range from single site installations to portfolios across the U.S. Projects include, but are not limited to, energy efficiency, back-up generation, batteries and other distributed energy technologies. The PM is the primary contact for all third- party vendors and contractors throughout the project lifecycle and also the customer during the implementation phase. PMs are responsible for providing estimating guidance, third party vendor and contractor management, schedule development/management, management of commercial terms and customer management. The PM will also be responsible for enabling sales activities for new programs by creating procedures with cross functional groups, such as sales, legal, customer care, asset mgmt., etc. Essential Duties/Responsibilities: * Directly manage third party vendors and contractors to support project development and execution. * Directly manage the relationship with the customer during project execution * Directly manage internal and external stakeholders, as required, to drive project to be delivered on-time, within scope and budget. * Lead contract negotiations for third party vendors and contractors followed by management of the contract include change management, schedule, payments, etc. * Create project execution plans to include communications protocols, change management and escalation paths Coordinate and run internal and external meetings, including build out of agenda, minutes, actions, presentations and planned messaging. * Develop and perform evaluation of RFPs and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical compliance * Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques. * Work within set processes and assist in the continual improvement of the processes. * Identify and develop Lessons Learned to distribute to the broader team.
