This exciting NEW Project Manager position is responsible for managing millwork projects for Elkay Architectural Millwork. Responsible for a portfolio of key projects for which he or she is the primary party responsible for planning, resourcing, tracking and closing out each project on time and within established budgets. Will coordinate the efforts of project engineers, installers, and logistics and outside vendors. Must be able to present effectively to company clients and develop close ties with the client's key personnel on project locations.

Will lead and oversee the entire life cycle of the millwork project delivery. Review project budgets, estimates, and Bid Set drawings for all assigned projects. Issue sales orders, transfer sheets and change orders. Evaluate bids from contractors and make recommendation for awarding contracts. Monitor the performance of project engineers and installation contractors to ensure that all jobs meet quality expectations and that all contract requirements are carried out.

Additionally, this position will provide support and assign projects to the other members of the Project Management Team and will assume responsibility for tasks as assigned by the Architectural Millwork Manager to help create a work environment conducive to successful completion of day to day operational tasks for the entire Architectural Millwork Team.

Specific duties include:

  • Manage customer construction documents and drawings which include product selection, pricing and detail notes for custom work. Ensure quality, accuracy and timeliness of all drawings.

  • Lead the utilization of team resources needed to increase productivity and improve cycle time and complete all project critical tasks in a timely manner.

  • Monitor progress and approve all shop / submittal drawings to assure drawing quality and accurateness, to reduce costs associated with inaccurate drawings.

  • Manage Sales Orders and Transfer Sheets and Changes Orders to conform to EAM formats and information requirements using bid data and contract documents to ensure accurate and timely customer invoicing.

  • Prepare purchase orders / requisitions for supply chain review including pricing, ship date, and detail notes for custom work. Work with internal order processing resources to assure all outsourced project services and material are secured in order to meet project delivery requirements.

  • Manage customer orders within plant capacity constraints and order due dates by working with customers and the internal production team. Responsible for customer follow-up on all order dates and communication to internal and external sources / supply chain.

  • Build and develop relationships between customer/project site and Elkay Interior Systems production and fulfillment team (engineering, production, purchasing, logistics, customer care, finance).

  • Oversee on-site jobs to meet Elkay's standard of quality and completion of project.


  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field preferred

  • 5+ years of experience with construction industry project management, estimating and bidding with an emphasis in casework, millwork, cabinetry and other related products required

  • Demonstrated project management skills a must

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills preferred

  • 2D & 3D CAD systems, a plus

  • Demonstrated project management process and software experience

  • Customer relationship skills

  • Creative and entrepreneurial abilities

  • Ability to manage a fast paced, ever changing set of challenges on a daily basis

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Excellent prioritization, team-building & time management skills

  • Ability to read and interpret project specification documents including building plans, drawings, product schedules and other related requirement documents.

  • Familiar with construction documents (drawings, building product and fixture schedules, etc.) bidding proposal formats and bid submittal processes and protocols

  • Knowledge of industry segment bid & Purchase Order and billing processes, CAD systems /drawings as well as company product production capabilities and capacities

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired: * Ability to coordinate with various stakeholders (business owners, program partners) and technical teams (development, testing, scrum masters, etc) for the delivery of features. * Requirements elicitation skills and analysis (story grooming, elaboration, design sessions, etc.) using Agile SAFE methodologies and ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks and projects. * Manages and analyses requirements with the ability to prioritize during changes and conflicts. * Ability to adapt in a fast paced, Agile SAFE Scrum environment. * Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand data integration points, process workflows from an end to end perspective. * Competent, self-starter with ability to work independently, solve problems, prioritize work appropriately, and communicate with various stakeholders. * Excellent communication and negotiation skills with various level of management. * Strategic thinker that understands and can bring together business needs and integration delivery.
