Project Manager and Estimator
Project Management Responsibilities:
Foster customer relationships and work collaboratively with all internal and external groups to effectively and efficiently meet clients' needs.
Conduct timely and complete meetings to transfer information from those who estimated the project to those executing projects.
Direct the pre-construction planning process, accurately scopes out length and difficulty of tasks and projects, develop schedules, anticipates and adjust for problems and roadblocks, and collaborate with project foremen to proactively resolve construction problems
Effectively details plan to procure and coordinate materials, equipment, labor, and subcontractors to maximizes project profitability
Proactively monitors costs and reacts to variations quickly; monitors labor to effectively control productivity; ensures financial success of project
Ensure timely billings
Manage project risks, including the development of contingency plans
Recommend methods and/or improvements based on project needs and resource capabilities.
Ensure job site employees maintain a safe work environment by conducting safety audits.
Analyze mechanical plans, specifications, client needs, design-build information, and other documents to prepare labor, material, and equipment estimates for projects.
Attend site visits and walk throughs as required.
Ability to estimate piping, sheet metal and plumbing systems.
Experience using estimating software with ability to manage and expand on existing estimating databases.
Support Account Managers, Designers, Vendors, Subcontractors, and Engineers as required.
Comply with corporate policy on safety, work ethics and time constraints.
Plan ahead to meet bid date requirements.
Generally has at least 5 years of related project management experience including project estimating, proposal review, design/value engineering, and project accounting.
Excellent knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and process piping, hydronics, refrigeration, sheet metal, equipment, materials, and installation process in pre-construction, new construction, design/build, value engineering and other services that are offered by Betlem
Strong organizational, planning and scheduling skills.
Experience with Excel, MS Word, MS Project, and industry estimating software.
Exceptional accuracy and attention to details.
Ability to review and understand bid documents, plan drawings and specifications.
Required: DMV review, background check and drug screening.
