The Boeing Company is recruiting for a Project Manager, Adjacent Programs in St Louis, Missouri. This senior level role will manage projects within the A-10/T-38/Adjacent portfolio, reporting to the Senior Program Manager of that portfolio. In this role, you will lead and have primary responsibility for proposals and project execution such as avionics displays replacements, structural component replacement, simulator upgrades, operational flight plan software upgrades, and/or similar projects. Working with all necessary functional colleagues and capability centers within Boeing, under the guidance of the program managers, you will contribute to critical upgrades to extend the life of critical platforms to the USAF and grow the Boeing business.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leads others and directs all phases of assigned cross-organizational or business unit projects demonstrating proficiency in all project management areas in accordance with accepted project management standards in the industry (e.g., PMI, Project Management Body of Knowledge [PMBOK], ANSI, and ISO standards). Oversight, and management responsibility (including performance management & reporting) for a portfolio of small to medium size projects in support of organizational the goals and objectives.

  • Identifies key stakeholder project specific objectives and requirements. Ensures assigned individuals are executing the identified and assigned tasks and providing appropriate tracking and reporting per plan.

  • Provides in-depth analysis of project culminating with lessons learned and historical reports for incorporation into future project plans.

  • Provides assessment of team performance to appropriate management.

  • Develops solutions to complex problems that require ingenuity and innovation.

  • Provides in depth analysis; identify lessons learned, provide historical reports to incorporate into future project plans.

  • Provides input of team member performance to management, where appropriate.

Qualifications

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelors degree is required

  • Experience managing projects with schedules, budgets, and requirements

  • Experience working with technical specifications and understanding and communicating technical requirements

  • Experience collaborating across complex organizations to accomplish desired goals

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience working on competitive proposals to the United States Air Force

  • Experience contributing to aircraft modification/upgrade projects

  • Experience in Earned Value Management

Typical Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree and typically 10 or more years' related work experience, a Master's degree and typically 8 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

The Director of Candidate Programs Role The Director of Candidate Programs manages a team of employees and contractors to deliver LaunchCode's continuum of programs to over 1,000 students annually. This includes community-based digital literacy programs (Discovery), our Immersive Learning (LC101 & CoderGirl) programs, candidate coaching, and apprenticeship preparation programs (Liftoff), and Apprenticeship Program. The Director will oversee program delivery, candidate evaluation standards, community partnerships, and work with to ensure the success This is a full time, permanent position based at the LaunchCode Mentor Center in St. Louis on Delmar Blvd. The Director of Candidate Programs - St. Louis reports to the Vice President of Impact.
