Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to handle a multi-million dollar k-12 project in the metro-Detroit area. This person will oversee and manage all aspects of the construction effort, including day-to-day operations and complex issues unaided. This position reports to the Group VP or President/CEO.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop RFIs and bring solutions to issues

• Handle AIA forms and financing pre/during/post stages of a project (The documents produced by The American Institute of Architects (AIA) are the most widely used standard form contracts in the construction industry. They facilitate communications among all the parties involved in construction, which makes it easier to produce a high quality project in a timely and economical fashion).

• Use and work within scheduling software to stay on top of projects (daily use of Microsoft Project - big projects with p6)

• Mentor subordinates including project engineers, interns, and field staff (union tradesmen). Leadership qualities will hold a lot of weight when considering candidates

• Promote and enforce a safe work environment and safe work practices for all self-perform trades, all subcontractors, and the overall construction site. This is key, and will be addressed during screening for this role

• Implement proactive planning and execution, assertive management, and problem solving skills.

• Manage the process to ensure project is successfully delivered safely, on time and within budget.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

MUST HAVES:

• Bachelors in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or similar field

• 3 plus years of Construction Project Management Experience with a General Contractor

• OSHA 30 certification MUST

• Strong leadership, communication, management, and computer skills (Procore, Bluebeam, P6 software will be brought up).

• Experience working with and communicating with union tradesmen

BONUS;

• Experience working on k-12 projects recently

• Estimating skills

• 7 plus years of PM experience
