Join Our Team as an IT Project Manager!

About Us:

Hey there! We're the Office of Information Technology (OIT) at the Department of Natural Resources and Conservation (DNRC), and we help the agency manage Montana's land and water resources in innovative ways. Our team is dynamic and collaborative, and we're all about making a big impact. We support 35 field offices and four divisions (Forestry and Trust Lands, Water Resources, Conservation and Resource Development, and Central Services) as well as the Board of Oil and Gas, all working together to make a difference.

The Role:

We're on the lookout for a skilled IT Project Manager with a solid technical background who's ready to dive in and help us take our tech projects to the next level. You'll be overseeing multiple IT projects, bridging the gap between our tech team and the rest of the agency. This role is perfect for someone who loves rolling up their sleeves and getting things done, while also keeping an eye on the big picture.

What You'll Do:

  • Plan and Execute Projects: Create detailed project plans, gather user requirements to create stories, manage resources, prioritize work, and make sure everything gets done on time.

  • Manage Risks and Changes: Spot potential issues before they become problems and handle changes like a pro.

  • Lead and Collaborate: Keep the team motivated and in sync, and make sure everyone knows what's going on.

  • Improve Processes: Always be on the lookout for ways to make our processes better and faster.

  • Report and Document: Keep track of everything and provide regular updates to senior management.

  • Align with Strategy: Help shape and implement our project portfolio strategy.

Why Join Us?

  • Awesome Benefits: Paid vacation, sick leave, holidays, health, dental, vision coverage, and retirement plans.

  • Student Loan Forgiveness: Employment with the State of Montana may qualify you for Public Service Loan Forgiveness.

  • Fun Work Environment: Be part of a team that values creativity, innovation, and making a difference.

A Note from Our CIO:

"Looking for a team that values people and gives you the flexibility to make a meaningful impact? Do you enjoy variety and autonomy? You'll find that and more here. I might be slightly biased, but DNRC is an awesome place to work. We're a high-performing team that works hard and always delivers while having fun. This IT Project Manager role is highly visible and plays a key role in helping us succeed. If you're outcome driven, like to get things done, and ready to make a real impact, please apply!"- Chris Powell
