Project Management Specialist

Purpose:

Valkyrie Enterprises is seeking a Project Management Specialist to support the Surface Combat Systems Training Command (SCSTC) in Dahlgren, VA.

Job Description:

• Responsible for analysis of combat systems training program milestone progress and developing strategies and recommendations for maintaining and recovering schedule progress.

• Monitors project risk and develops mitigation strategies designed to maintain schedule requirements.

• Develops analysis reporting regarding program progress and risks that can be utilized by decision makers to provide proper direction to teams executing projects.

Qualifications:

• Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in the application of project management methodologies.

• Must have the ability to coordinate and complete projects, set deadlines, and summarize responsibilities.

• Must have the experience and the ability to identify risk areas, develop mitigation plans and complete technical reviews.

• Must have experience monitoring programs, making adjustments to schedules and summarizing status of progress.

• Must have experience with Microsoft Project Software.

Desired Qualifications:

• Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification

Security Requirements:

• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.

Travel Requirements:

• Minimal travel required.

• If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:

• Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.

• Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.

• Communicating with others to exchange information and repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.

• Subject to outside environmental conditions (extreme cold/heat), subject to noise, vibration, hazards, atmospheric conditions (affect the respiratory system), frequently work in close quarters and/or function in narrow aisles or passageways (areas that could cause claustrophobia)

Pay Range: $75,000 - $80,000 per year
