VDOT's Fredericksburg District has exciting an opportunity available in its Preliminary Engineering Department. We are seeking qualified candidates to fill a Project Management Engineer vacancy. This position is responsible for overall project management to include planning, organizing, monitoring, and directing work activities and resources necessary to complete assigned projects. They manage projects to be consistent with established processes, schedules, budgets, design criteria, standards and specifications, and ensure projects are on-time and on-budget.
This position will manage projects in the preliminary engineering phase which involves taking a project from a concept level to final design plans for construction. Additionally, they navigate processes and approvals to prepare a project for construction. This position does not manage projects during the construction phase.
