Job Summary:

Works closely with the Sales Team, project management, and telephone company staff in a post-sales capacity to design telephony network solutions and resolve technical and logistical issues with regard to service delivery commitments made during the sales process. This position may also work closely with the Sales Team, channel partners, and customers during the sales process in order to ensure alignment between the customer's needs and the capabilities and regulated constraints of the regional telephony service providers' (TSPs) portfolio offerings.

In a pre-sales capacity, this position is responsible for understanding the customer's telephony needs (both ingress and egress) and providing advice and information on the relative benefits and risks of possible solutions. This position is responsible for identifying new telephony technologies and solutions and assisting with evolving reference telephony network designs and solution best practices. Depending on area(s) of specialty, may provide guidance, implementation, and alternative solution advice for telephony products and/or network and integration opportunities.

Responsibilities

Post Sales Deployment

Provide detailed voice network traffic engineering once the solution is accepted by the customer.

Develop detailed engineering design documents, test plans, statements of work (SOW), method of procedure (MOP), and other cutover documents to guide the implementation team throughout the project.

Work closely with the Project Manager, installation team, and TSP support staff throughout the project to resolve technical product or telephony issues and questions related to the design.

Participate in all post-sales telephony solutions design meetings.

As required, remotely support the successful cutover of the Company's products and solutions.

Pre-Sales Solutions

Assist Sales/Distribution Channel Teams, and Sales Engineers with designing telephony network solutions in response to opportunities for NGCS including RFPs from a technical perspective.

In partnership with a Technical or Senior Technical Design Engineer and the account sales team, serve in an advisory capacity in strategic pre-sales activities (including RFP responses and best-and-final presentations) in order to ensure the proposed telephony solution design is aligned with the customer's needs and locally-available telephony services offerings.

Review quotes of telephony network solutions and services prior to release to the customer and ensure that offered services would be in compliance with applicable regulations regarding 9-1-1 service delivery.

Develop supplier Statements of Work in conjunction with NG9-1-1 Business Manager, Technical Design Engineers and procurement.

Provide wide scope of solutions including telco network traffic engineering, and VoIP solutions design.

Interface with internal subject matter experts, ILECs, CLECs, VARs, customers, government agencies and TSPs as appropriate, gathering information and resolving issues.

Provide advice and guidance to all stakeholders as they develop sales, deployment, and support tools and best practices to improve efficiency and reduce telco circuit change orders throughout the solution lifecycle.

Provide site specific analysis on telephony requirements specific to customer needs.

Provide advice and assessment on the benefits and risks of the proposed telephony solutions.

Present telephony solutions architecture at customer meetings as required by sales.

Product Evolution

Identifies, proposes, and initiates feasibility studies for new telephony services offerings in order to enhance the competitiveness of the Company's portfolio.

Provides recommendations to NG9-1-1 Services Manager, NG-1-1 Business Manager, R&D, and Network Solutions Technical and Senior Technical Design Engineers on the adoption of new telephony-related technologies into our Network Solutions portfolio, with an eye toward cost reduction, deployment efficiency, reliability, and competitive differentiation.

Participate in the acquisition or development of appropriate test and assessment tools to ensure the quality, regulatory, and requirements compliance of our solutions.

Apply technical expertise to the resolution of complex solution problems. This could involve in-depth analysis including the use of sophisticated analysis tools, e.g., telephony circuit troubleshooting tools, etc.

In support of a Technical or Senior Technical Design Engineer, participate in strategic design reviews and test plan development to ensure compliance with specified requirements.

Experience

At least 7 years of technical and analytical experience with Telco traffic engineering concepts including both traditional TDM (SS7, T1, PRI, analog) networks as well as VoIP data networks.

Experience with pricing methodologies and tariffs in the telecom arena.

Experience or familiarity with Next Generation 9-1-1 concepts, best practices, and solution design.

Experience with CTI and call center operations.

Experience interacting with, and presenting complex designs to, audiences of various technical competencies including customers, engineering staff, and government agencies

Experience with public safety systems, networks, and peripheral equipment.

The Manager, PMO is to define the project management process, standards, deliverables, establishing & maintaining cross functional organizational alignment, defining operational cadence necessary to ensure consistent project execution through prioritization, resourcing, budgeting & execution of projects. The incumbent will be responsible for informing Leadership on all relevant project matters (timeline, risk, resources, budget, etc.). The Manager, PMO provides active leadership to all aspects of customer implementation projects from start to finish, utilizing a full project management methodology. In addition, the Manager, PMO must have a sufficient technical background to understand the technologies and technical issues involved with the product, to be able to anticipate and identify critical technical obstacles, and to make accurate technology decisions related to implementations. The Manager, PMO also must be able to manage project schedules and task details and utilize project management tools such as reports, tracking charts, checklists, and project scheduling software and to delegate appropriately. He/she must be able to manage change and take active leadership in timely decision making.
