The Role

This position is for a senior project management analyst in support of the Propulsion Plant Data Entry / Display Terminal (PP-DE/DT) group within the Control and Information Systems (CIS) section of the Gerald R. Ford Class Aircraft Carrier Propulsion Plant Planning Yard (PPPY) department.

Specifically, the candidate selected to fill this role will interface with internal and external customers in the creation and maintenance of various project schedules, which track the planning, development, and testing for system images for a commercial laptop computer to support shipboard maintenance and operations. This involves regular communication and interaction with personnel across the PPPY and other NNS departments, software vendors, as well as NNL and NAVSEA customers in preparation for bi-weekly and monthly status meetings/briefings.

Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports.

Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.

Must Have

Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of relevant exempt experience; Master's Degree and 4 year of relevant professional experience

One of the following may be used as equivalent to Bachelor's Degree to meet minimum qualifications:

  • NNS Apprentice School graduate

  • Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate

  • Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience

  • Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience

  • High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience

  • High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience

Nice to Have

  • Proficient with Microsoft Project

  • Proficient with Microsoft Visio

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Good organizational skills

  • Familiarity with agile development processes

  • Familiarity with Atlassian Jira
