This position will work as a Technical Business Analyst on the IT Collaboration Services team, with a primary focus on delivery of SharePoint solutions. The business analyst is responsible for discovering, synthesizing, and analyzing information from a variety of sources and creating and delivering SharePoint, SharePoint Online and Office 365 business solutions. A major focus will be on adoption and raising the organization's understanding and proficiency of SharePoint.
Under guidance of the SharePoint architect, and working within governance policies and development practices, the SharePoint Business Analyst will work with business customers to understand their requirements, align business goals with software capabilities, and implement SharePoint solutions.
The business analyst will be expected to:
Apply communication and problem-solving skills to actively assist the business on issues related to the design, development, deployment and operation of SharePoint solutions.
Educate and trains customers on guidelines or processes as needed and develop training content (webinars, documents, videos) and execute online and onsite training
Collaborate with business users to identify acceptance criteria and potential test scenarios and ensure testing efforts align with delivered functionality
Work closely with developers, when applicable, to deliver a custom SharePoint business solution that meets the defined business requirements
Contribute to the vision and execution of SP and Office 365 adoption across the organization
Build, configure and maintain SharePoint/Team/Group sites and solutions
Provide production support for SharePoint, SharePoint Online and Office 365 as an escalation resource
Assist with the migration of the existing company's intranet
This position requires an individual with a strong background in aligning IT solutions with business requirements. A Bachelor degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is required. Formal training in requirements development, business analysis, and SharePoint administration and development is strongly preferred.
2-5 years experience in development and delivery of IT solutions, preferably in web-based collaboration, publication, or workflow systems, required.
Experience as a business analyst, system consultant, solution architect, developer, or SME is strongly preferred.
A solid understanding of shipbuilding or manufacturing processes is strongly preferred.
LSS Green Belt training or similar process improvement methodologies strongly preferred.
Experience in coordinating and driving technological change and facilitating collaboration is preferred.
A solid understanding of how SharePoint can deliver business solutions with minimal customization
Exposure to SharePoint administration, SharePoint Designer, event log troubleshooting and third party administration tools and techniques.
Working knowledge of SharePoint content structure, taxonomy, metadata and workflow toolsets and techniques
Excellent consultative, oral and written communication, customer service, product demonstration, and presentation skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization and at varying degrees of computer proficiency are required.
