The Auto Applications Department is responsible for all projects related to the application development and ongoing maintenance of all business applications supporting operational areas within Auto Operations, Auto/Acura Sales, and Auto Core Support. Auto Applications systems provide critical business functions from Dealer Allocation, Ordering, Logistics, Freight, Product Planning.
The Sr. Staff Analyst is a core role and key to support the business, to keep Honda knowledge in-house and support ISD direction of global sourcing and organization optimization. This core role requires good Honda knowledge, experience and understanding of systems processes in the areas of auto logistics and sales including, but not limited to cash draft, freight, routes, CPO, sales reporting. This role serves as partner with business units to integrate IS technology with business needs to provide solutions. This role will also serve as a team lead and manage small projects (less than $500,000) and/or portfolio support. The team lead will ensure compliance with SOX, project management, development, and other standardized practices, standards, and methodologies.

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline, or have equivalent experience
13 years of work experience plus10 years experience support the automotive sales and distribution area and 10 years of mainframe application development and support experience
Strong technical skills:
IBM Mainframe series
Familiarity with REXX/Clist
In depth knowledge of business requirements and corporate priorities
Experience in building and maintaining test environments
System testing with complex batch and online processing
Understanding of SOX requirements and performing in a structured environment
Self-motivated, problem solver, reliable, and a fast learner
Able to work proactively, make informed decisions and know when to escalate
Able to Interface with business units effectively, i.e. communicate, coordinate and anticipate needs
Work well with other support groups (good influence and negotiation skills) plus strong analytical skills
Able to manage time and diverse activities under deadlines while delivering quality results, on time, and on budget
Strong customer orientation required
