Pratt & Whitney, a recognized leading producer of the world's most advanced commercial and military turbine engines, is seeking talented engineers to join our organization within Pratt & Whitney's Project Engineering discipline during the summer of 2019. Intern level project engineers will be valuable members of an Integrated Product Team (IPT), made up of designers, structures engineers, product modeling and drawing staff, and systems analysts.

The IPT's are tasked with sustaining fielded engines through product deficiency investigations and developing product enhancements. The IPT's will also resolve manufacturing issues in the support of new engine development and production. This position is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to a variety of disciplines within engineering.

Individually, the intern level project engineer will be tasked with project management activities such as budget and schedule planning, IPT meeting coordination, project qualification or development testing, and hardware procurement coordination. The candidate will work in a multi-disciplinary team, execute engineering standard work, and drive tasks to meet program milestones. This is a unique opportunity for an college graduate or emerging professional to work on the best, and most sophisticated engines in the world Level of responsibility includes:

Responsible for small projects or multiple tasks within functional discipline Makes contribution to the team through their knowledge Works with moderate guidance on projects Has solid understanding of the fundamentals of the discipline and role. Experience/Qualifications Candidates in their freshman, sophomore and junior years of an undergraduate program are encouraged to apply. Students in graduate programs are also eligible. Education Certification Candidates should be pursuing a BS or MS degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with a minimum GPA of 3.0

Hot Section Engineering (HSE) at Pratt & Whitney is currently looking for an entry-level Engineer in Design Engineering to join our team in support of commercial, military and industrial gas turbine engines. In HSE, we are responsible for the design, analysis and validation of the Combustor/Diffuser, Turbine, Augmenter and Exhaust Nozzle jet engine components which operate at substantially elevated temperatures. In this role you will be part of the multidisciplinary integrated product team (IPT). You will have responsibility for the overall component or module design and will balance requirements across disciplines to produce a well-balanced and robust design. Key Roles & Responsibilities: * Collect and organize system/ module level requirements to create or modifying existing designs dependent on the phase of the program. * Provide feedback to all disciplines on the design progress and potential impact on analysis. * Update IPT status and metrics such as weight, cost, and schedule. * Generate and document information in order to support design reviews. Basic Qualifications Completion of a B.S. or M.S. degree program in Engineering is required. Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering is highly preferred. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required. Preferred Qualifications Ambitious with high energy while working well in teams. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
