Project Interior Designer/Architect- (Design Focused)

What we are looking for

  • Commercial Interior Designer or Architect with 6-12 years of experience, ideally with experience in workplace design, although other specialties will be considered

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture

  • Exhibits strong design skills but also a solid technical sophistication

  • Ability to contribute to AND lead a team through the conceptual, schematic, design development, construction documents, specifications, construction administration, and FF&E phases

  • Is self-starting, energetic, and creative

  • Excellent Revit, Enscape, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign skills

  • Ability to work with the Director to develop strong design concepts and accurately document them in design presentations and construction documents.

  • Ability to mentor and lead the design process with more junior designers

  • Experience with space planning, FF&E specifications, material selections, codes, and coordination with consultants

  • Experience with the construction administration process

  • Excellent 3D graphic rendering skills

  • Fluent in written and spoken English

  • Valid work permit (USA)

  • This position is for our Washington, DC office only. 100% remote candidates will not be considered.

  • Project travel may be required.

What we prefer

  • LEED and/or WELL accreditation

  • NCIDQ Certification or Architectural Licensure

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Demonstrates leadership and experience with broad, cross-disciplinary project teams

  • Strong knowledge of Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia codes and IBC building codes and regulation
