Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated college student interested in jumping right into the business and moving in a fast pace to execute daily, weekly, monthly actions to support the Finance organizations charter to accurately reflect the financial performance of the Region in our Downtown LA office. This position will begin in May or June 2018. The AECOM Internship Program (10 Week program) is designed to engage students from colleges, universities and technical schools in the practical application of a major administrative or technical study and to familiarize the intern with the interactions and requirements of the industry. Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional. Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Under close supervision, follows established procedures in performing accounting duties of limited scope and complexity requiring professional knowledge of accounting theory and principles.

  • Displays knowledge and ability to apply standard techniques, procedures and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related accounting tasks.

  • Participate in special projects including project forecasting, revenue recognition analysis, process improvements (document, review, recommend, implement)

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited 4 year college or university and seeking a Bachelor's degree majoring in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field with the intent to attend the subsequent term as a full-time student.

  • Must have completed a minimum of 4 semesters (2 years) of college courses

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word

  • Ability to complete work accurately and timely

  • Basic understanding of accounting concepts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior internship in a related field

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

  • Previous internship with AECOM in a related field

  • Graduating within 3 semesters
