Overview
The Project Engineering Supervisor will be responsible for leading the system layout, design, integration, commissioning, and follow up of industrial equipment and automation projects for COPPERWORKS. This position is dedicated to driving the adoption of new technologies and processes to achieve greater safety, efficiency, cost reduction, and quality improvement. To accomplish these goals, collaboration with Plant personnel, COPPERWORKS Engineering Team, suppliers, and integrators on project activities will be critical.
Responsibilities
Drive a World Class Safety Culture on all projects.
Ensure that contractors follow COPPERWORKS safety protocols.
Develop concepts and designs for automating manufacturing processes with vendors and COPPERWORKS facilities.
Analyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow resulting from changes to production methods and technology.
Prepare process specifications, requirements, and production metrics.
Create requests for quotations and proposals.
Analyze drawings and models to understand the manufacturing methodologies and verify that when launched, the new system will support production objectives.
Assure Process FMEA, Preproduction Approvals, Industrialization Strategy, Process Workflows, and System Acceptance align with performance metrics.
Initiate and support multiple projects and implementations of varying sizes and degrees of complexity.
Ensure that projects are planned and executed in a timely and efficient manner and routinely report progress.
Lead and conduct manufacturing trials for new processes.
Provide technical guidance during commissioning of new or modified processes.
Create work instructions, process documents and training materials required to support production activities.
Prepare technical manuals, drawings, or files and reports such as change control, and troubleshooting guides.
Support Preventive Maintenance Planning and Coordination by ensuring spare parts and all PM plans and tasks are in place to ensure effective maintenance.
Advanced problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills.
Ability to collaborate in a fast-paced team environment while handling multiple priorities.
Strong working knowledge in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Qualifications
Required:
Have a safety top of mind attitude
Mechanically inclined, hands-on individual
Advanced ability to solve problems with creative thinking and communicate effectively with little guidance
BS in ME, EE, Automation, or Related Field or equivalent experience
Proficient computer skills in Word and Excel with knowledge of CAD
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Works well in team environment
Willing to travel
Preferred:
Construction experience
Experience with managing capital projects
Previous manufacturing or industrial operations
