Job Responsibilities:

Provide support for civil and environmental engineering projects including wastewater collection system infrastructure evaluation, rehabilitation, and design; and water distribution system design.

Position responsibilities will include technical report writing; pipeline routing alternatives design and analysis; field investigations/site reconnaissance; project permitting and coordination with regulatory agencies; data collection; utility coordination; erosion/sedimentation control and tree protection plans; engineering cost estimating and analysis; wastewater flow development and hydraulics analysis; engineering design calculations; engineering specification review and preparation of contract documents for construction; bid and award services; and construction phase engineering services.

Provide support for environmental projects including environmental sampling field work, data management/tabulation and analysis, subcontractor oversight, and reporting.

Prepare project scopes of work and budget estimates; coordinate with team surveying, geotechnical, structural engineering, and electrical engineering subconsultants; coordinate with internal QA/QC reviewers, financial analysts, and administrative assistants.

This position will require an estimated 25% travel/field work for site inspections and meetings with client site representative and construction contractors.

Qualifications:

B.S. or M.S. degree in Civil, Chemical or Environmental Engineering with at least 5-10 years of experience. Illinois-Licensed P.E. certification is required.

Excellent writing/verbal communication skills for interaction with multi-disciplinary staff, clients and regulatory agencies.

Excellent organization and operations planning skills.

Self-starter, detailed oriented, and finisher.

Proficient using typical business software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, Adobe, etc.).

AutoCAD/GIS experience is preferred.

Process Design is a plus.

Job Summary: As our Design Quality Engineer you will be responsible for providing support to new product development teams, including Design Input, Verification Testing, Risk Management and Design Transfer activities. Your expertise and skills will play a very real role in the continued growth of our product line. While the main duties reside at our Mundelein offices, there may also be an opportunity to work periodically at our new Schaumburg Office as well. Overview of Job Duties: 1. Provide quality engineering and reliability input to all new projects, including the establishment of quality and reliability design constraints and design evaluation criteria. 2. Plan, coordinate, execute and lead design verification testing against product requirement specifications 3. Oversee the Risk Management program, including creating Risk Management Plans, coordinating risk analyses, participating in FMEA's, and maintaining Risk Management Reports and Files. 4. Participate in design reviews to ensure customer and regulatory requirements have been properly translated in to design inputs which are complete, unambiguous and do not conflict. 5. Write, review and/or approve product specifications, test protocol/reports, and manufacturing/inspection processes. 6. Develop an understanding of the current product to assist with product updates and maintenance releases. 7. Assist in the preparation of design documentation to ensure the Design History File is maintained. 8. Assist with creating Essential Requirements Checklists and Technical Files for EU submissions. 9. Create, implement and teach new quality systems as required. Minimum Requirements: 1. BS degree in Engineering discipline or equivalent degree + experience 2. Minimum of 8 years' experience in engineering related industry, of which 5 years should be in the medical device industry. 3. Direct experience with FDA QSR and ISO 13485 compliance. 4. Knowledge of development, validation and manufacture of medical devices. 5. Direct experience with electro-mechanical equipment required, including IEC 60601, EMC and UL requirements.
