  • 15+ years relevant experience in project engineering or system engineering

  • Strong customer interface skills with ability to work in high pressure situations professionally

  • Solid written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience leading and collaborating with teams of multiple disciplines utilizing systems engineering tools and resources along with the capability to interface with all departments at Viasat, and our vendors, subcontractors and customers

  • Experience working with Software Development programs including development, testing, and customer sustainment

  • Understanding of the government's airborne communications requirements that support VIPSAM missions

  • Knowledge of the government's program teams and organizations responsible for executing VIPSAM requirements

  • Ability to think at the system level as well as the component level

  • Ability to work between high level requirements to low level system specifications

  • Working knowledge of IP/Networking equipment, including configuration, application and troubleshooting of routers, switches, TCP-IP networks, Crypto, Wi-Fi, VoIP and VTC

  • Ability to perform project and resource planning

  • Ability to estimate efforts accurately and thoroughly

  • Knowledge of production flows and processes

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in a Technical Field

  • US Government Program, US Citizenship Required

  • Ability to obtain Secret Clearance

  • Ability to travel up to 25%

VIEW JOBS 11/11/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-09T00:00 Job description As a Project Engineer, you will have to: * - Support the Program Manager by providing programmatic and technical leadership in support of gas turbine engine development and certification activities for airborne applications. * - Coordinate and guide a multi-disciplinary team including Engineering, Quality, Contracts and Aftermarket. * - Assume ownership and responsibility for ensuring project tasks requirements are achieved. * - Develop and maintain effectively communication with internal and external customers and company leadership. * - Support the generation, maintenance and reporting of detailed program plans (milestones, budget, schedule, resource allocation, etc.) * - Possess and utilize effective problem solving and decision making skills. * - Actively participate in the development of Program Management tools and processes. * - Ensure high level of Customer satisfaction. Essential duties and responsibilities: * - Provide leadership and coordination in support of any and all activities assigned by the Program Manager. * - Ensure all program requirements are achieved. * - Ensure superior level of customer satisfaction through effective communication and achievement of requirements. * - Develop and maintain schedule and budget plans. * - Facilitate and ensure effective coordination between all organizations/departments: Engineering, Quality, Contracts and Aftermarket. * - Build a strong relationship with customers, partners, suppliers and parent company personnel.
