We are currently seeking a Project Engineer to work out of our Tucson office. The selected candidate will provide project support related to information flow, document control, records management, schedules and compliance throughout the assigned project life cycle.

  • Establishes and maintains all project engineering files related to subcontract and bid package records, plans, specifications, changes, and clarifications.
  • Responds to all requests for information in a timely manner, resolves questions and disseminates updated information to all project stakeholders.
  • Updates project management database daily with any project plan or other changes for review by all relevant parties.
  • Requests project updates from Project Superintendent and monitors project schedule to ensure project is tracking to schedule.
  • Enforces OSHA safety standards and company safety policies to maintain a safe working environment for all team members, subcontractors and site visitors.
  • Monitors receipt of letters of intent (LOI) to ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Assists Superintendent in managing project site logistics and schedules deliveries as needed in response to the needs of the site.
  • Conducts subcontractor activity inspections ensuring that the subcontractor is following their own quality assurance procedures and reports any findings to Superintendent or Project Manager as appropriate.
  • Coordinates and schedules OAC meetings, documents meeting and generates meeting minutes for stakeholder review.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in construction management or related field.
  • OSHA 10 certification desired
  • Skill with project management or related software applications (Viewpoint Team, Excel, Bluebeam).
  • Ability to travel.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to read project blueprints.

This person will be working as part of the Technology and Innovation Engineering group in Tucson Arizona focusing on new product development. Candidate must be a strong project leader and is expected to provide technical leadership.</p><p>Responsibilities</p><ul><li><p>Lead and contribute to new product development projects, including design, analysis and prototype phases.</p></li><li><p>Lead and/or work closely with Tooling Engineers to develop appropriate tooling strategy, including tool design, fabrication, shake-out, FAI and transition to production.</p></li><li><p>Work closely with Manufacturing Engineers to ensure successful transition of product from design to production.</p></li><li><p>Provide Engineering leadership through all phases of the product development and sustaining lifecycle.</p></li></ul><p>Qualifications</p><p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p><ul><li><p>BS degree in Mechanical Engineering</p></li><li><p>5+ years of design and project engineering with increasing levels of responsibility</p></li><li><p>Proven success in product development as a member or technical leader</p></li><li><p>Project management and planning experience</p></li><li><p>Excellent theoretical and practical knowledge of design/mechanical engineering concepts</p></li><li><p>Product development using 3D CAD packages including modeling, assembly, and drafting</p></li><li><p>Knowledge of basic assembly methods including fasteners, snap fits, and sonic welding</p></li><li><p>Understanding of structures/fluids and basic knowledge of material mechanics</p></li><li><p>Experience with plastic component design and thermoplastic/thermoset materials</p></li><li><p>Experience with injection mold tooling, Moldflow, and processing</p></li><li><p>Acceptance of light travel, including Nogales, Sonora and Tijuana, BC</p></li><li><p>Excellent verbal and written communication skills</p></li></ul><p>DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p><ul><li><p>Advanced degree (MS or MBA)</p></li><li><p>Practical experience with problem solving methods such as 8D or DMAIC approaches</p></li><li><p>Knowledge of SPC, FMEA, DOE and process capability studies</p></li><li><p>Understanding and application of root cause analysis, optimization, and reliability studies</p></li><li><p>Knowledge of FEA and CFD - performing finite element analysis</p></li><li><p>CAD modeling and drafting experience with SolidWorks</p></li><li><p>Experience with fluid control devices and solenoids</p></li></ul><p>Rain Bird is an Equal Opportunity Employer.</p><br> Rain Bird Tucson AZ
