Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Project Engineer Level 5 to join our group of qualified, diverse individuals. The position will be located in Palmdale CA.

The role requires strong leadership and communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships across a multi-disciplined organization and team.

Candidate will oversee and manage all aspects of ongoing projects and serve as liaison between program leadership and the project team.

Travel up to 10% will be required.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for leading multiple projects for a wide range of technologies that are in various stages of development and implementation

  • Own the overall technical quality and performance, budget (cost), and schedule for the engineering content of the assigned programs

  • Prepare and brief status of projects to leadership and the Government customer

  • Identify risks and opportunities, and assess and resolve issues to meet project goals and objectives

  • Coordinate the preparation of proposals, proposal work statements and specifications, and proposal task assessments. Participate in the negotiation of contracts and contract changes.

  • Act as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer

  • Serve as the interface between the IPT Lead, Engineering Leads, and Engineering Discipline/Department Managers to coordinate staffing requirements and ensure proper skill mix to support program activities

  • Mentor junior technical contributors

Basic Qualifications:

  • Active in-scope DoD Secret clearance (background investigation no more than five years old), and must be able to obtain and maintain special program access

  • BS STEM degree

  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills

  • Project Management experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS), proposal estimating, risk management, and maintaining an Integrated Master Scheduling (IMS)

  • Experience with generating or reviewing cost estimates/basis of estimates (BOEs)

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Tool suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • An active in scope DoD Top Secret clearance (background investigation no more than five years old)
  • Current access to SAP/SAR programs
  • MS STEM degree with 7 years experience

This position will be located in Palmdale, CA. The selected candidate will provide Technical Data Publications Lead, Project Engineering support and Technical Integration Support to ensure continued operations and sustainment of a system. Essential Functions: * Leads technical order management activity (TOMA). Functons as NGAS TOMA * Leads the technical order distribution (TOD) team in an O&S environment in support of interactive electronic technical manuals, technical orders and instructions * Technical Data Lead will coordinate FSARs and ICRs in support of engineering directives (ED) form technical manual incorporation , research technical data, user manuals , operational specifications, and other related technical publications. * Technical Data Lead will provide Program Management with weekly and/or monthly report, interact daily with customers and conduct reviews. * Ensure contractual compliance and timely deliverables/. * Technical Data Lead will communicate plans and goals to top level management to increase organizational performance. * Technical Data Lead will develop solutions to complex issues, provide inputs to proposal activities and implement solutions. * Participate in assignment objectives, plans and schedules. * Oversee technical data efforts on an interdivisional work order (IWO). * Must have active secret clearance and program access to start and must be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance. The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels. Candidate must be comfortable in an operational environment and be able to collaborate closely with engineers, mechanics, technicians, and management. Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 9 years of engineering experience OR a Master's Degree in STEM and 7 years of engineering experience. * Experience technical data publication. * An active DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance with an investigation within the last 5 years. * Ability to obtain program access as required.
