Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Project Engineer Level 5 to join our group of qualified, diverse individuals. The position will be located in Palmdale CA.
The role requires strong leadership and communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships across a multi-disciplined organization and team.
Candidate will oversee and manage all aspects of ongoing projects and serve as liaison between program leadership and the project team.
Travel up to 10% will be required.
Responsible for leading multiple projects for a wide range of technologies that are in various stages of development and implementation
Own the overall technical quality and performance, budget (cost), and schedule for the engineering content of the assigned programs
Prepare and brief status of projects to leadership and the Government customer
Identify risks and opportunities, and assess and resolve issues to meet project goals and objectives
Coordinate the preparation of proposals, proposal work statements and specifications, and proposal task assessments. Participate in the negotiation of contracts and contract changes.
Act as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer
Serve as the interface between the IPT Lead, Engineering Leads, and Engineering Discipline/Department Managers to coordinate staffing requirements and ensure proper skill mix to support program activities
Mentor junior technical contributors
Active in-scope DoD Secret clearance (background investigation no more than five years old), and must be able to obtain and maintain special program access
BS STEM degree
Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
Project Management experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS), proposal estimating, risk management, and maintaining an Integrated Master Scheduling (IMS)
Experience with generating or reviewing cost estimates/basis of estimates (BOEs)
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Tool suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
