Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite support for sterile product scale up

  • Gain a working knowledge of the project and product requirements to be able to respond to vendor questions and project issues to keep the critical path of the project intact.

  • Provide timely communication to internal teams and customer to ensure both parties are aware of project progress and critical issues at the vendor site.

  • Determine who needs to be involved in critical issue resolution based on subject matter expertise.

  • Manage scale up project risk log and ensure appropriate risk mitigation is in place, as needed.

  • Provide focus on critical path compression and manage actions required to achieve.

  • Worker performs engineering work related to planning, devising, or adapting methods to improve manufacturing production.

  • Escalate critical issues as appropriate.

Requirements

  • BS/MS in Engineering discipline.

  • Minimum 3-yr experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment. Preference for sterile product manufacturing experience within the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Experience in product development and manufacturing scale up.

  • Working knowledge of cGMP requirements required.

  • Previous project management experience.

  • Demonstrated leadership and strong influencing skills.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Located at vendor site in Greenville, NC

VIEW JOBS 10/23/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-01-21T00:00 Position Overview This position assures projects are executed in accordance to current site methodologies, policies, industry best practices, and cGMP requirements. The role will leverage knowledge of GMPs and manufacturing processes to ensure that projects are executed with minimal disruption to Operational schedules and must provide construction management oversight to ensure that projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with all applicable codes and requirements. Key Responsibility Areas Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * With minimal guidance and supervision, lead the planning and execution of all technical/engineering aspects of major capital projects related to production and/or facility requirements * Directly responsible and accountable for delivering capital projects to scope, budget, and schedule * Guide process of RFQs, bid process, vendor selections and invoice approvals * Assure capital projects have clearly defined scope and are planned, executed, and documented to deliver best-in-class service * Provide direct management, execution, and oversight of capital projects of varying complexity from concept/inception through execution, commissioning and qualification * Establish project team as well as develop project strategy, master schedule, and control utilization of financial resources * Identify and mitigate project risks to scope, budget, and schedule * Prepare specifications for projects to include all dimensions, electrical, HVAC and mechanical/utility considerations and requirements * Prepare URS, Risk Assessments, and Safety Assessments for active projects * Provide construction management oversight to ensure that projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with all applicable codes and requirements * Coordinate the development of engineering and GMP documentation, procurement, engineering services, construction, commission, qualification, and turn over to Operations * Interact with Senior Management for project reviews and governance Key Competencies/Requirements * Accountability: Assume responsibility for successfully accomplishing work objectives and delivering business results; setting high standards of performance for self and others * Agility: Respond positively to change, embracing and using new practices or values to accomplish goals and solve problems * Creativity: Explore and advance opportunities to develop novel solutions and approaches to the improvement of processes and services * Empowerment: Find opportunities to improve and extend their contribution to the organization and their teammates * Integrity: Demonstrate the highest commitment to integrity and showing respect for and value all individuals for their diverse backgrounds, experiences, styles, approaches and ideas * Passion: Evidence passion for the organization, our people, and the difference we make daily in improving the lives and health of people * Customer Service: Effectively meet customer needs; build productive customer relationships; take responsibility for customer satisfaction and loyalty * Problem Solving: Build a logical approach to address problems or opportunities or manage the situation at hand by drawing on one's knowledge and experience base and calling on other references and resources as necessary * Task Management: Strong organizational skills, ability to define, delineate roles and responsibilities effectively; plan well, be flexible and able to facilitate change, optimize quality and productivity as projects progress * Teamwork: Work well with others while providing support and assistance to team members to help accomplish objectives Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Automation Engineering with 5 years of directly related experience * Associate's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Automation Engineering with at least 10 years of directly related experience * Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, or Six Sigma Black-Belt training is desired * Experience required in Capital Project Management, Facilities/Maintenance and/or Automation in the pharmaceutical, chemical process, semiconductor, or food industry; background in plant engineering desired * Knowledge of MS Project, AutoCAD or SolidWorks, document management, WebEx communications; strong knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint is required * Working knowledge of hazardous chemicals and their disposal, OSHA, EPA, FDA and EU regulations * Demonstrated technical capabilities in project management, process design, critical path scheduling, resource planning, cost estimating, process hazard reviews, building codes/regulatory permits, contract/construction management, and commissioning * Excellent verbal and written communication skills required; ability to clearly and concisely communicate technical information is essential * Must maintain professionalism and flexibility while working under pressure of deadlines and dealing with ambiguous situations * Ability to travel if required to achieve project objectives Physical Requirements * Some exposure to hazardous chemicals and other active chemical ingredients * Position requires the capacity to handle and manipulate objects using hands and arms General Statement Mayne Pharma is an equal opportunity employer.
