This position has multiple job openings and may be filled at multiple levels.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develops and manages the strategic approach and work breakdown structure for commercial space station systems in compliance with a prescribed product lifecycle development process.

• Identifies and interviews stakeholders for the purpose of developing effective product requirement specifications.

• Defines and manages scope & resource (both personnel & budgetary) allocation for assigned projects.

• Maintains a product data management strategy in accordance with the company's Quality Management System (QMS).

• Develops product breakdown structures of major assemblies related to project scope.

• Executes product development in accordance with Agile development philosophy (scrum teams, daily stand ups, product sprint demos).

• Supports cross-disciplinary collaboration as needed for effective & efficient product development.

• Manages trade studies to facilitate the closure of major project decision points.

• Decomposes large-scale objectives into clear and concise tasks, then assigns these tasks accordingly across a product development team.

• Manages subcontractor & vendor scope, tasking, contract terminology, and contract execution, as applicable.

• Takes responsibility for all major project milestones and associated entrance & exit criteria.

• Communicates & presents findings during development and major milestone events to stakeholders and program leadership.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• 10-15 years of project engineering experience preferred.

• Experience with SOLIDWORKS 3D modeling software or similar computer aided design tool preferred.

• Experience with PDM software such as SolidWorks Product Data Management (PDM) or similar.

• Spaceflight hardware design background preferred.

• Experience with project management software (Microsoft Project, Primavera P6) preferred.

• Experience with Atlassian suite preferred.

Essential Functions

Work Environment: Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside of office work or travel, depending on the task.

Requirements

• Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.

• Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised.

• Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
