Our innovative team in Longmont, CO are designing and deploying industry leading satellite mechanisms, deployable structures, solar array systems and space antennas to the global space market. Summary

We have a current opportunity for a Sr. Project Engineer located at our facility in Longmont, CO. In this role you will have the opportunity to work on cutting edge space-based payloads developing a variety of RF/antenna systems and deployable structure. Programs deliverables can vary from single subsystems to multiple units for constellations of satellites.

In this role a project engineer will own and manage the technical scope of the project. They are responsible for driving the technical execution and ensuring the final hardware meets expectations. They work closely with the Project Manager on defining the tasks required to complete a project. They communicate expectations throughout the project team and coordinate efforts with the different Engineering and Operations functions. A Sr. Project Engineer is expected to interact with external customers, subcontractors, and the technical team to guide development through strong communication and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead interdisciplinary projects teams to develop and build satellite hardware.

• Ensure the delivered hardware meets internal and external stakeholder expectations.

• Interface with customers and manage technical scope.

• Assist program management with team organization and project technical execution.

• Direct risk and opportunity management activities

• Share technical status with appropriate levels of management throughout the company.

Ideal Experience

• BS in Engineering, (Aerospace or Electrical Engineering preferred). Master's Degree may substitute for two years less of applicable experience.

• Minimum of 5 years' experience developing designing, building, and testing hardware.

• Experience developing & building satellite hardware from concept through product verification.

• Extensive background with antenna design, electronics, and/or electrical box design.

• Experience leading a team and developing technical work plans.

• Background working/communicating with customers to manage contractual requirements and project expectations.

• Understanding and implementation of risk management activities.

• US Citizen (Green Card holder and Visa sponsorship not accepted).

Desired Skills

• Background managing technical baselines and product configurations.

• Experiencing leading multiple projects from concept to delivery, following an engineering development lifecycle with standard technical reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, etc.).

• Experience reviewing drawings, assemblies, and fabrication/test procedures.

• Experience writing requirement and establishing appropriate verification criteria

• Experience with rapid prototyping methods for fast proof-of-concept development

• Experience working with ESD sensitive hardware

Pay range

$92,000-$135,000

Redwire determines pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data, for our locations throughout the US. We will evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index, in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company.

For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth. Salaries will be based on the applicant's level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. Additionally, we consider the external market rate, the amount we have budgeted internally, and internal equity within the company for the same position. An employee/candidate with a stronger skill set will receive higher pay.
