A Project Engineer is responsible for planning, overseeing and leading projects from ideation through to completion. This role requires interaction with a range of internal and external stakeholders, most often managing several moving parts of the project, simultaneously.

As a role that focuses on completing a Project as efficiently and promptly as possible, typical responsibilities of the Project Engineer include:

  • Leading project planning sessions

  • Coordinating cross-functional contributions and maintaining dashboards

  • Managing project progress and adapt work as required

  • Ensuring projects meet schedule requirements

  • Managing relationships with Program Managers (when applicable) and stakeholders

  • Overseeing all incoming and outgoing project documentation

  • Designing risk mitigation plan

  • Conducting project review and creating detailed reports for executive staff

  • Optimizing and improving processes and the overall approach where necessary

  • Following correct procedures and guidelines (Group Recommended Practices)

Required: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or related field

Preferred: PMP Certification or similar training

Experience -

Required: Project scheduling of multiple simultaneous projects

Required: Significant experience using project scheduling software

Required: Proficiency in the use of MS Office applications

Required: Product Design Experience

Preferred: 5+ year Project Engineer Experience or similar

Special Knowledge/Skills -

  • Planisware or similar experience a plus

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and creativity, as well as strong analytical skills

  • Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision

The Project Engineer will be trained and developed by Sr. Project Engineers and a Project Engineering Manager.</p><p>Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Hands-on, technical project engineer with the ability to implement technical and security solutions as well as transition work plans for client startups and existing client infrastructures.</li><li>Build out client infrastructures which would include cloud-based SaaS solutions, virtual servers, networking equipment, desktops, laptops, and other common office technology.</li><li>Continuously improve process and efficiencies of implementation and integration of new and existing technologies by developing automation or utilizing known toolsets.</li><li>Create and execute technical work plans to meet project deadlines.</li><li>Ability to proactively work cross-functionally to build relationships and rapport amongst highly technical and non-technical co-workers and clients.</li><li>Participate in research, design, and testing of new and existing technologies to add value to client business objectives.</li><li>Work with Project Managers and provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress.</li><li>Attend client-facing meetings.</li></ul><p>Qualifications</p><ul><li>2-4 years of IT Experience (Desktop Support, Systems Engineering, Systems Administration).</li><li>1-2 years of end-user support/desktop support: Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, desktop and mobile device troubleshooting, deployment of home networks</li><li>1-2 years of implementation and support of cloud products: Microsoft 365, Box, Dropbox, SharePoint / OneDrive, Azure, Intune, Conditional Access.</li><li>1-2 years implementing and supporting enterprise networking equipment such as Palo Alto / Cisco Firewalls, Cisco Switches, Cisco / Meraki / Ubiquiti WAPs.</li><li>Knowledge of Microsoft 365 licensing structures.</li><li>1 or more years implementing and supporting cybersecurity products such as Mimecast, Sophos, Symantec, Carbon Black, SecureWorks, or Proofpoint.</li><li>Strong knowledge of networking: TCP/IP, LAN / DMZ / WAN, DHCP, DNS, Routing Protocols, Switching, and Firewalls.</li><li>Financial industry experience including familiarity with market vendor applications such as Bloomberg, Thompson Reuters, FactSet, CapIQ.</li><li>Managed Services Provider and Public Cloud experience are big pluses.</li><li>Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.</li><li>Very organized with excellent communication skills.</li><li>Goal-oriented individual with proven ability to solve problems creatively.</li><li>Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>Excellent analytical skills.</li></ul> JFR Staffing New York NY
