Job Summary
RENEW is seeking an Project Engineer to lead the development, implementation and on-going management of our energy efficiency and on-site clean energy projects in support of RENEWs clients. As an Energy Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and delivering energy efficiency and decarbonization solutions to RENEWs diverse base of clients. Client market segments include commercial, industrial and institutional clients including investment real estate, multifamily residential, healthcare, higher education, corporate, and manufacturing facilities. Your primary area of focus will be a designated portfolio of projects in a region/area across the United States and Canada, with a secondary focus on supporting overall US portfolio of projects.The successful candidate is a dynamic individual with high energy and motivation, is an independent worker, and has a passion for developing energy efficiency solutions in a decarbonizing world. Critical skillsets include leadership, interpersonal communication skills as well as an understanding of the energy industry and a comprehensive understanding of complex energy and related building systems.This position:

  • Manages the project implementation/execution process, including engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and close-out for multiple projects as RENEWs representative
  • Manage the implementation of any necessary measurement & verification programs for multiple completed projects;
  • Manage the on-going operations & maintenance and the performance of multiple operating projects.
  • Works collaboratively in the business development team and other teams across RENEW and its partners
  • Is accountable for the results of all assigned projects and makes day-to-day decisions for the projects as RENEWs representative
  • Delivers effective communication (oral and written) inclusive of clients, partners and team members to clarify expectations and requirements
  • Provides technical expertise and develops technical strategies for proposals in collaboration with the business development team including the evaluation and management of technical and commercial due diligence and the develop preliminary project analyses for customer projects
  • Identifies trends, issues and opportunities for their area of the business, industry, or projects
  • Actively involved with clients and partners and supports business development initiatives
  • Applies acquired expertise and knowledge to solve RENEWs and clients business challenges


Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related field
  • 2-3 years of directly relevant experience
  • Demonstrated experience managing contracts and contractors
  • Demonstrated experience preparing proposals and reviewing contracts
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects

Preferred Qualifications

  • CEM, PE, LEED AP or other relevant certification
  • Experience managing the installation and/or operation and maintenance of building systems (boilers, chillers, heat pumps, controls, etc.) and energy systems (CHP, solar, battery storage)
  • Finance experience is preferable and experience with financial modeling and Excel are a plus;
  • Experience managing cross functional teams
  • Experience working in a matrixed organization
  • Experience managing a client account or a portfolio of projects
  • Experience delivering results against financial KPIs

The desired result is that our projects are run efficiently with maximum profitability and high customer satisfaction. Through executing, shadowing and mentoring, this role will get the required experience to develop into an Assistant Project Manager.<br>Essential Duties and Responsibilities<br>Include the following. Other duties will likely be assigned.</p><p>Participate in estimating hand off meetings.<br>Counts for buyouts of packages.<br>Assist with management of documents for the Field.<br>Assist in establishing project schedule with PM.<br>Assist in creating cost code allocations from initial estimate.<br>Work with PM and Pre-Fab Manager to discuss pre-fabrication opportunities and coordinate lay out, plan and schedule for any prefabricated assemblies.<br>Assist with project change orders.<br>Work closely within Office and Field to ensure they have the latest drawings.<br>Visit job sites and attend job meetings as needed.<br>Assist with bi-weekly projection on job cost.<br>Manage vendors and track all deliveries of materials.<br>Assist with issuing timely RFIs.<br>Work with Project Coordinators as required for assistance in Purchase and delivery tracking, software inputs, permit pulling, change order management, project close out materials, administrative duties, etc.<br>Assist with job close out manuals and as-builts.<br>Participate in job close out meetings.</p><p>Qualifications<br>To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
