We are looking for a Project Engineer to join our team in Fredericksburg, VA to grow our organization and move into the future.
The Project Engineer manages the company capital projects from design and specifications, project planning and management, bidding, vendor management and budget management.
Responsible for company capital projects and spending
Assist with RFP preparation
Develops and maintains a schedule and budget for projects
Develops project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans; conferring with project owner and management
Determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements; work with management to assign personnel to phases and elements; reviewing bids from contractors
Determines project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards; completing technical studies; preparing cost estimates
Determines project schedule by studying project plan and specifications; calculating time requirements; sequencing project elements
Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems
Support project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan and schedule changes; recommending actions
Optimize project costs by administering and managing contractor contracts
Prepares project status reports to customer, project team, and management
Attend project meetings with management, contractors, and others parties needed to accomplish projects
Work with Safety Manager to develop any safety programs needed for projects
Other duties may be assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering and a minimum of three years of relevant management and working experience as an Engineer
Ability to demonstrate knowledge of lean concepts
Ability to work through complex problems and implement effective solutions
Ability to work in an office environment as well as in the field
